"GRAY!"

He heard Juvia's scream then he woke up.

He was dressed in white. Pure white. A white button- up shirt and white baggy pants held up together with a white belt and the outfit was tied together with white boots. Something he would usually wear except all the color just vanished, leaving only the white.

He sat up wondering where he was. Is this Heaven? No way.

"You're right, this isn't Heaven"

A blond girl appeared before him, but he couldn't see her face, just her hair. She was wearing a plain, flowing white dress underneath a white cloak and barefooted.

"Who are you and where are we?"

"Just call me An and we are in the layer between Heaven and Earth."

"Okay… Why am I here? I should be up there or down below."

"You are here because you are special."

"What do you mean?"

"Just wait and see. What do you remember before you died?"

"I shoved Juvia out of the way from being hit, and then it shot me three times and a shot to the head."

"What do you think of Juvia?"

"She's … just a little sister to me."

"Oh?"

"She's seems to like you a lot. If you don't like her, do you have a special someone?"

"Yeah, I liked this one girl."

"This one girl?"

"Yeah, she's the most beautiful girl I've ever met."

"That's all?"

"Of course not. I'm not that shallow."

She giggled," Yeah, I know, go on."

"She's kind, funny, innocent and everything nice. She had the prettiest smile; she could light up a whole room", he paused, frowned then said," But…"

"But?"

"But she always hung out with another guy, like my best friend. I guess that's why I hung out with Juvia because I know how she feels. I didn't want her to feel what I felt."

"Like what?"

"Like the person you like doesn't care about you."

"I'm sure that isn't true."

"It felt like it."

"I just can't stand that in my final moments, I couldn't be with her."

"I think I understand what you mean."

"Really?"

"Yeah. When I died, I wished I could be with the man I loved. We were engaged and everything, but then the world turned like crap."

"Hehe. It sure did. You sound familiar."

"Do I?"

"Yeah you do."

"Well, you should."

She lifted her hood up. He could recognize that face and that smile anywhere.

"Why didn't you recognize my voice?"

"Are you dead?"

"Well, yes, I am, but the present Lucy, she's still alive."

"Present Lucy?"

"Yeah, I'm future Lucy."

"Oh. Well, sorry."

"Wow. That's all you have to say, sorry? You are really special, you know?"

"I know, you've told me. Now tell why."

"I'm special too. He gave me a chance to revive someone, anyone, I'd like. Including myself, but I chose you."

"Why?"

"Well…" she walked toward him. She got closer and closer and closer and he backed all the way up to the edge of the cloud thingy they were standing on, "Who would I be engaged to in the future, if you didn't live?"

"Natsu?"

"No" She leaned in toward his ear and whispered," You" and she pushed him off the cloud thingy.
