Chapter-1
Decisions Decisions
There he sat, fuming with rage and little bit of nervousness. Angry his accomplices had left him behind, and nervous that he had been apprehended and placed in an interrogation room. The job was simple, just get the cashier to give up the cash, that was it. Which he did, and he did it well, perhaps too well. The lynx twitched his tail, shoving his hands in the pockets of his hooded, leather jacket.
"Too well" meaning that he dealt with the heroic cashier by bashing him over the head with a pistol, several times. He sighed, being set up as the middle man wasn't as easy as he thought, realizing now he was just the fall guy. He clenched his fists, mumbling to himself angrily. The door opened and there entered two officers, a rabbit and a large, imposing tiger. The rabbit doe sat down opposite him while the tiger stood and watched from the door, his face emotionless. The rabbit smiled, "Evening Mr. Dowdy." The lynx clenched his teeth, but instead of retorting back, he winked, "evening leggy." The rabbit, visually, seemed to NOT like this response. She scowled and leaned forward, dropping a file on the table, "listen sir, you're only here because we decided not to book you the second you came in the door. You could be of use to us, so I suggest you start being useful." Mac grinned slyly, he had her in his hypothetical pocket now,
"whatever you say hon."
She opened the file, reading aloud, "Mac Dowdy. assault, petty theft, battery, assault with a deadly weapon, grand theft auto." She closed it again, clasping her paws in front of her, "quite the charmer." He shrugged and put his feet up on the table, leaning back in the chair. She sighed, exasperated, "I'm gonna give it to you straight kitty," Mac growled at that. "We wouldn't even be talking right now if the precinct didn't want something from you, so here it is." She leaned in, "you were working with other mammals yes? We believe this robbery was connected to a string of others, masterminded by a specific group of mammals planning something bigger." Mac snarled, "then what do you need me for?" Judy smiled sweetly, "we need you to identify them, being as you were the only one stupid enough to get caught. We think you were a hire on, a middle man, a fall guy. Someone expendable so they could continue, unhindered." Mac scoffed, "and why would I do that?" She stood and gathered the file in her arms, "because if you don't you'll be immediately incarcerated, no further questions. If you cooperate, we can reduce you're sentence, maybe put in a good word." He laughed snarkily, "It's not like I can help much, these fuckers were secretive, I didn't have much contact with 'em." She walked to the door, seemingly not listening, "you have thirty minutes to decide." The rabbit exited, followed by her eternally scowling security detail.
Mac sighed heavily and slumped, "…I hate that bitch…" he mumbled to himself.
