Candy x Neil

Summary: What if Candy never was an orphan? What if her family lived near the Pony home and that's the reason Candy got to know some of the kids there.

Chapter 1: New home, new friends

It was early summer when the White family moved into their new home outside of Chicago, near Lake Michigan. The White family have two daughters, Alissa and Candice. However they are usually called Aly and Candy by their family and friends. Moving in and settle down in their new home took a little less than a week. But when they were all settled both Aly and Candy decided to start exploring the different areas surrounding their new home.

'Hey Candy, don't get too far off.' Aly yelled after her younger sister.

'Don't worry Aly, I won't.' Candy yelled back.

Knowing that her younger sister has a tendency to fall down and get scratches Alissa followed in the direction she saw Candy run. After a while Alissa came across what appeared to be an old church. Hearing her name being called Alissa looked around and saw her sister sitting in a tree not far away.

'Candy, be careful so you don't fall down.' Alissa yelled.

'Don't worry so much Aly.' Candy called back. 'I'll be fine.'

Alissa decided to sit down under the tree Candy was climbing to make sure she didn't injure herself. When she looked back to the old church she saw children playing outside and some of them were on their way to the tree where she sat and Candy climbed.

Apparently the children didn't expect anyone to be at the tree and when they saw Alissa leaning against it they froze.

'Hello.' Alissa said. 'Who might you all be?' Alissa asked the children.

'Aly, who are you talking to?' Candy asked while climbing down.

'There are kids here that came from the church.' Alissa replied.

'That's not a church.' One of the kids replied.

'That's an orphanage.' Another said.

'Really? It looks like a church to me though.' Alissa said.

'I think it used to be a church' a girl with dark hair and blue eyes said.

'What's your name?' Alissa asked but before she got an answer someone was calling for the kids to come back. Looking up Alissa saw what appeared to be two nuns. When she heard her sisters voice Alissa saw that one of the kids were still present.

'What is your name?' Candy asked the girl. 'My name is Candice but mum, dad and my older sister here call me Candy.' Candy said.

'M-my name is A-annie.' The girl said in a shy voice. 'Excuse m-me, I'll have to g-go back.' The gild called Annie said.

'Bye bye Annie. Let's play someday.' Candy called after her which made the girl smile and wave goodbye before entering the church again.

'She seems nice and friendly.' Candy said.

'Maybe if you ask mum and dad they'll let you play with the kids here. Some of them seem to be within your age.' Alissa said. 'We've been away long enough. We better get home before it gets dark.' Alissa said to her sister.

'Yeah.' Candy said.

When Alissa and Candy got home Candy was quick to fill her parents in on what they did and that they met some kids living in an orphanage and that one of the girls seem to be really nice. To Candys luck she was given permission to play with the kids as long as she didn't do something reckless or stayed until very late.

'You two seem to have had a great day exploring the area.' Mr. White said while reading a newspaper.

'You two better get some sleep. Remember that we are to visit the Ardley and Regan family tomorrow and you better be well rested for that.' Mrs. White said.

'Ok, night mum and dad.' Alissa and Candy said at the same time.
