Yaay! Reviews! Thankee! Erm… Just to let you know, this WILL be a parody; it's just that the prologue was supposed to be all uber serious and whatnot. In fact, the 'twist of fate' mentioned is something very, very cruel concerning Stanton and Serena cough stacy and Sergey /uncough .
hint at future : In all of her 16 years alive, she had no idea she was a man.
The Great Hyperion gave birth to three legendary children; Eos the Dawn, Helios the Sun, and Selene the Moon. Of the two women, Eos had many more affairs than Selene, but she was not the better lover.
As a pure born Goddess, Selene was blessed with immortality, and with it she spent her time pursuing the path love granted her. Though her affairs included Pan and the great Zeus himself, Selene was still empty. One night while racing her chariot across the night sky, her eyes fell upon a mortal man, and from that point on, Selene had finally found love.
As the young man stared deeply into the Moon, her chariot, she kissed him with her soft rays. And from that point on, he too loved her. Every night from that point on, Selene would visit him either as the Moon, or in her true form. From her many visits, she bore many daughters.
But their love was not meant to be, for Endymion had his own path to follow. He was an exiled Prince of his kingdom whose uncle had thrown him out with the death of the King, and the Fates had intended him to regain kingship soon, but they did not intend for him to love Selene. Infuriated by her disregard of the Fate they had woven for Endymion, the Fates called upon the Erinyes, the Furies, for help.
"We do not reak vengeance on those who need not be punished. Can you not be satisfied that Selene will outlive every one of her daughters?" said they.
"That alone is not enough; help us twist the fate of one Daughter!"
But the Erinyes would not comply. Full of arrogant fury, the Fates bribed the philanthropist Zeus, promising him the fates of many beautiful mortals. With Zeus' word as law, the Erinyes had to give in.
"Then it shall be that the Daughter who loves the most shall be cursed by both the Erinyes and the Fates. But let this be known to you: the twist of fate cannot hinder her love, and with her love, she may untwist it."
