Link sat at the edge of the lake, anxious to see Zelda. He hadn't seen her since that morning, and he knew it would be awkward seeing her again after what happened. Many thoughts raced his mind, he repositioned himself and listened to the birds. He moved again, it was difficult to stay still for once.

He closed his eyes, and started to loose track of time.

"Link..."

He opened his eyes, the princess was standing there, looking down at him.

"Yes, princess?" he responded.

"A-About what happened earlier... I... c-came to ask if you'd..." studdered Zelda, she blushed and looked away, embarressed. Link knew exactly what she wanted, he stood up, not saying anything, and walked up to her. His hand behind her neck, the other on her waist. She blushed harder, looking up at him. He gently pulled her closer. "Nobody's going to disturb us this time. It's just us right now" he said quietly to her. She hesitated for a moment, then closed her eyes.

In that brief few seconds, the whole world was shut out around them. It was only a short kiss, but it felt like hours had gone by already.

Link pulled away, both blushing like there was no tomorrow.

They stood there for a moment, then Zelda wrapped her arms around him. "I've waited for this moment for so long... Thank you..." she mumbled in his ear. He smiled, "I've waited just as long as you have, Zelda.". The castle started to quiet down, this was her que to get back and start her daily job as a princess. "I... need to go... Princess duties call" she said, pulling gently away from his grasp. "Would you like me to lead you back?" he asked, he held his hand out to her. She took him by his hand and smiled, as he led her across the brige towards the castle.

Ah, this ship. This lovely, (hopefully canon) ship. I LOVE IT SO MUCH. I've recently gotten into the Zelda fandom, and noticed people have been drawing what their children would look like. I might make a story about them as a family sometime, a side story.

These two were practically MEANT to be together from the start of the game! I mean, they both have a Triforce, they have simalar likings, and just lOOK AT THIS ARTWORK.
