Olimar sat back in his cockpit as his ship, the H.S.S Dolphin sailed through the great cosmos of space. He had just finished a relaxing two week vacation from his work as a freighter pilot for his planet, Hocotate. It had been much needed and he was now preparing for his voyage home.
The ships computer beeped as he set the coordinates for Hocotate, finding the best route, preferably one that would give him a nice view. His ships computer had a smart AI, made smarter by the Analog Computer installed within it, his only companion in the depths of space.
"Captain Olimar." The computer buzzed. It's mechanical voice filling the ship. "Hocotate route established, we will pass by an uncharted planet. Is this acceptable?"
"Uncharted?" Olimar asked it.
"Yes, by our people. Signs show it is several times larger than Hocotate and reads high amounts of life-signs. Do you wish to go in for a close pass?"
"Sounds good." Olimar said. "Take us close, but not to close. I still want to get home in time."
"Acknowledged." The computer buzzed. "Captain Olimar, it is recommended at this time that a diagnostic is performed on the ships life-support systems. Requesting you please put on your Space helmet."
Olimar nodded. "If I must, but don't take too long. I hate wearing this thing."
Olimar allowed the helmet to slide onto his head and heard a hiss as it locked in place. He took manual control from the computer as the computer ran the safety tests. While the tests were being performed, Olimar looked out the side window to see the planet stretching out below him.
However as he was distracted he, nor the ship (which was preoccupied with the tests) did not notice the meteor suddenly hurtling toward them. Until it was too late.
The meteor collided with the side of the ship and sent it hurting away from its course.
"Hull has been breached!" The computer buzzed. "Mechanical failure. Unable to control."
"What?" Olimar shouted, the planet now getting closer. "Do something!"
"Unable to control. Planetary gravity has taken ship. Preparing for Impact."
Olimar held on for dear life as he felt the planets gravitational force pull down the ship. Sailing over a fast forest he suddenly heard something...break off? Then the radiation canopy came loose...and came off.
Olimar clung onto the controls for dear life as he saw his seat and massage machine fly out of the ship. The lower hatch blew open and now several items from inside the sip itself were falling out onto the planet below. Olimar saw the ground rushing up before him... and then only blackness.
