Upcoming Dino Charge Fanfic Scene

"I like Tyranno," Tyler remarked. "I'm keeping that."

Tyler, Shelby, Riley, and Koda had scattered themselves in one of the many family rooms of Kiera's house. Tyler was leading the conversation, currently upside down on one of Kiera's couches and going through names for their zords. They had all agreed unanimously that their zord names were long.

"So, Triceratops..." he said, gesturing to Shelby. The pink ranger was eyeing him almost suspiciously, her arms and legs crossed as she sat upright in a recliner. "Your turn."

"Triceratops was...okay, but it's not that long," she replied. "I guess...Tricera. See, look that that...one less syllable."

"But Tricera sounds better than Triceratops."

"They sound equally as affecting and redundant to me."

"Fine. Velociraptor's kind of long, though..." Upside down, Tyler pointed a finger at the green ranger and arched his head up to notice Riley typing away on his phone. "What are you doing anyway?"

"Scrabble," Riley told them without looking up. After a cheerful beep sounded from his phone, he shut it off and looked at them. "What am I supposed to name it?"

"Something creative," Tyler answered. "Let's see, Velociraptor..."

"Velo?" the green ranger suggested.

"You want to name it after the French word for bike?" Shelby asked him.

Riley turned to her and grinned. "Yes."

Shelby rolled her eyes, a proportional amused smile dancing on her lips. "How about Veloci?

Tyler suddenly snapped his fingers. "I got it! Velocira!"

Riley and Shelby morphed their faces into the same expression. Riley said, "If we're going to name our zords one syllable less than their actual dinosaurs, then there is no point of this conversation!"

"...Velo it is." As Shelby sniggered to Riley about the name of a bike, Tyler turned to Koda. "What about you, Koda? Stegosaurus."

Koda thought for a moment before telling him, "Stego."

Tyler smiled. "Thanks for being quick. See, Koda got it."

"Are you guys seriously naming your zords?" Chase said as he entered the room. He plopped himself down next to Riley.

"You should too," Tyler replied. "The name of your zord, what did Kiera say it was...Parasaurolophus? Jesus, you need a name."
