A/N: Okay, so we had a supply today in English and she told us we had to write two different shorts stories, and this is the first one that I came up with. The first sentence was given to us and we HAD to use it. I wasn't amused about tht fact, nor was I amused by the fact that my friend who was meant to be there so I could bounce ideas off her, jsut satthere with her book pretending to play tennis, she worries me at times. Anyway, Sam is ADDEK's son, and this happens, like, say a month or so after Addison cheated and Derek left, whether he went to Seattle this time, I do not know.
Okay, I'm going to stop talking now so you can read. I feel like this is the crappier one out of the two, but Emily disagrees, so this fic is for her I've jsut decided. Enjoy Cuddlebunny.
Enjoy
Sam knew there was trouble coming as soon as Mrs. Thomas closed the door. He sat down in front of the desk and looked up at his head teacher. He could tell she was angry and disappointed in him. Sam looked down and wiped away the blood that trickled out of the cut on his left cheek. He kicked the floor slightly and refused to look up, he knew he was in trouble.
"Well?" Mrs. Thomas raised her eyebrows at one of her students, waiting for him to explain why he was nearly beating the crap out of another boy on the school field.
"She's not a whore." Sam mumbled and pulled at a loose thread near the hem of his T-shirt.
"Who's not a whore?" Mrs. Thomas frowned, confused, and sat down behind her desk as he looked up at her. "Oh." She nodded, understanding who he meant. She had heard about the fact that Sam's father had left him and his mother, and she had heard the things the other things were calling his mother.
Mrs. Thomas nodded and stood up again as Addison Shepherd, Sam's mother, walked into the office. Mrs. Thomas could see the stress ad worry on Addison's face and then the panic fill her eyes as she rushed over to her son and take in his injuries.
"Mrs. Shepherd." Mrs. Thomas held her hand out and shook Addison's thin one, feeling how weak her grip was. "Thank you for coming in."
Addison nodded and sat down next to her son, listening to both the head teacher and Sam explain to her about what had happened between Sam and Jason, the boy he had had a fight with. Addison began to realise the exact effect her and Derek, and Mark, had had on Sam and how much they had ruined their family.
"I'm sorry, mum." Sam mumbled and looked up at his mother once she had been informed about everything.
"No, this is my fault, Sam, not yours." Addison shook her head and pulled her son into a tight hug, kissing the top of his head.
"I think it'll be best if you take him home now." Mrs. Thomas looked at Addison.
"I will." Addison nodded and shook Mrs. Thomas' hand before her and Sam left the school. They walked into the car park and towards Addison's car, slowing down as they looked at the figure stood there.
"Dad!" Sam smiled slightly and ran towards Derek, hugging him tightly.
"Hey bud." Derek pulled him close, kissing the top of his head before looking up at Addison who was stood watching them, her eyes glistening with tears. Derek let out a sigh, holding out an arm for his wife who fell into his arms, beginning to sob and he soothed her.
Maybe, just maybe, they'd be alright.
