(My best friend is an amazing boy who has always been there, despite the different schools and work schedules. He is a wonderful guy and I am blessed to have him in my life. We were at the college we attend the other day, and he whipped out his cell, plugged my headphones into it and shoved one earbud in my ear and demanded I listen to Taylor Swift's new song, Speak Now. It's a good song, and it inspired this. I own neither the idea, the song or the characters. Though, I do own my best friend's soul. :P)

"I'm shaving! Go away!" Neal yelled at the pounding on his door. He only had three hours untill he was to be married, and for Nealan of Queenscove that wasn't much time at all. Much to his dismay, Kel pushed open his door and walked in, sitting down on his desk chair where she could observe the methodical shaving of his face.

He dipped the razor in the basin on his dresser and glanced over his shoulder at the tall young woman, still in her tunic and breeches and looking quite contemplative. Shaking it off, he turned back to his mirror. "What the matter, love?" He asked her, pulling the razor away from his face. He knew from experience that talking and shaving didn't mix and his friends had only just forgotten about that previous incident.

Kel was silent for a moment before she took a deep breath and started to speak softly, "I just.. Well, I think you're making a mistake."

He stopped fully at that and turned around, catching a bit of dripping lather from his chin as he stared incredulously at his best friend. "Excuse me?"

She couldn't quite meet his eyes, something so very unlike Kel that he was almost starting to worry. "I just don't think the two of you are suited is all." She murmered delicatly. He knew that quite a bit of thought had been put into that sentance. She wasn't trying to upset him.

He crossed his arms and leaned back against the dresser, leveling his gaze on the Lady Knight sitting quietly on his bed. "Oh? And why's that, Keladry?" The contempt in that statement was horrible and he wished he could take back his words and say it nicer. This was Kel, not his father or Owen! This was his best friend!

She mumbled something softly, something he didn't catch and then stood. "You two are just so different.. I'm not sure once you have to see each other every day, you'll get along. I don't want you to end up regretting getting married. I'm just worried. Sorry for barging in on you, I'll see you after while."

With that, Kel nearly sprinted out of his room, leaving a bewildered Neal contemplating what had just happened.

"If anyone objects, speak now or forever hold your peace."

Every day, for the rest of her life, Kel regrets not speaking then.
