Author's note – North Carolina did not secede until Lincoln called for troops. North Carolina is the twin sister of South Carolina. Her Mother is the C.S.A.

April 15th, 1861 – Raleigh North Carolina

Caroline Jones, the embodiment of North Carolina, could not believe the letter her Governor just gave her. The letter sent by Lincoln to all states still in the Union. The letter asked for each state to raise their state militias to fight the C.S.A., to fight her southern brothers and sisters. She had tried to stay out of this conflict but this is going too far. "Lincoln has gone too far this time "she told her governor "This is the last straw, we are going to secede and join the Confederacy. We will not raise arms against our Southern brothers, and by asking us to he has pushed us to this". She looked at her Governor expecting him to disagree to seceding but instead she that he entirely agreed with her. "You are right Caroline" The Governor stated "He has gone too far this time". With that North Carolina officially joined the Confederacy with her southern brothers and sisters.

-Line Break-

Author's note – The North Carolina units suffered the most casualties during the war, mostly because they would never retreat until the very bitter rate was 95% of each unit lost

During the Civil War

Alfred thought he had won the battle. He had driven the Southern states and even his own sister Dixie from the field. His men were still being fired at and dying. He had no idea who it was but then he saw. It was North Carolina and her troops, they were the ones he hated fighting the most as they fought till the end of the battle. You could not drive her from the battle unless you injured her to where she couldn't fight anymore. As more of the Union troops fell,

North Carolina sighted America with 3 of his states. They were West Virginia, Pennsylvania and New York. She quickly aimed her rifle, and with one squeeze of the trigger, West Virginia fell. Then before they could even fire back, Caroline drew twin revolvers and unloaded all the bullets onto Pennsylvania and New York. Alfred was the only one left now and North Carolina holstered her revolvers. She then drew her sword and charged with a rebel yell. Alfred could see out of the corner of his eye, his lines breaking and running. They had lost fewer men then the North Carolinians, but the North Carolinians stood strong while his men retreat. He returned his attention to North Carolina as she brought her sword down on upon him and he was barely able to block. She brought down a flurry of slashes and hacks upon Him, hitting Alfred's body every so often. America was also able to land some strikes though and as they had their swords crossed, Alfred asked "where are your Traitorous siblings and mother?" North Carolina simply replied "Oh, don't worry I'll put some tar on their heels to make um stay in the battle longer*". Alfred could see his men were retreating so he took the chance and pushed North Carolina back then he retreated. He could hear North Carolina sneering and calling him a coward for running. Caroline then left to go back to her men to make sure those that survived were still okay. After she made sure that men that were wounded got back to camp, she went to chew out her siblings and mother for running.

*- This is a reference to when North Carolina soldiers were said to of shouted to union troops that they would put tar on the other states soldiers heels to make them stick better in the next battle when they were forced to retreat after the other states troops retreated.
