A/N: Well Chaps (you're all officially Chaps now) I found this on my computer today and decided it was sort of bittersweet so I should post it. It's basically just unrequited Cloud/Sephiroth. Because we all need a bit of angst in our lives sometimes.

Pairing: Unrequited Cloud/Sephiroth
Setting: Crisis Core, or even pre-Crisis Core?
Cloud saw the finger twitches, the clenching of fists and the scowls. Sephiroth would be standing with his friends, engaged in a conversation and appearing to have all his attention focused on Genesis and Angeal. But all Cloud had to do was round a corner and those fingers would twitch knowingly before being curled tightly into a fist that was meant to control them. Cloud would walk a bit closer, smiling shyly, and call out his name. The man would scowl, not even bothering to glance over to see the boy pause, droop, then walk away.
Cloud saw the tensed shoulders, the tight-lipped grimace and the arched eyebrow. He would be standing at the door to Sephiroth's apartment, eyes wide in desperate hope to be acknowledged as something more now that he was in casual clothes and holding a rose. As soon as the door opened to reveal the silver-haired General, the man in question would stiffen, his shoulders tensing and his lips pressing together in a grimace. Cloud would extend the rose cautiously, holding his breath. An eyebrow would arch. He would be one step closer.
Cloud saw the tilting of the head, the furrowed eyebrows and the folded arms. Zack would be standing beside him, laughing at something he'd said and punching his shoulder playfully. Sephiroth would enter the room and hesitate, observing the scene and tilting his head curiously. He would furrow his eyebrows, catching Cloud's eyes to ask a silent question. Cloud would go unusually quiet and Sephiroth would fold his arms. He would be jealous.
Cloud saw the furtive glances, the passionate green eyes and the half-smiles. It would be him talking to friends this time, only to sense the presence of someone else and look over to find Sephiroth glancing at him through long eyelashes. Those partially-hidden eyes would show Cloud the passion within them and the boy would smile bashfully, lifting a hand to give a small wave which, finally, would result in the corner of the man's mouth curving upwards.
Cloud saw it all.
But everyone has to wake up.
A/N: In case anyone is wondering, the whole 'everyone has to wake up' is meaning that all those things Cloud 'saw' were dreams. Thought I'd explain so that no one was left confused.
