December 8th 1980, My Redeemer
"Honey, John's been shot" Linda said to Paul as he walked into his home after a recording session "Is he alright?"Paul said trying to hide his sadness "Yoko said he was in a coma" Linda said as she walked up to her husband and gave him a hug "I have to see him" Paul said as he buried his face in Linda's sweater "If you need to go alone, I understand" Was all Linda could say to her husband not knowing it was gonna be the last year she and Paul would be married.
Yoko kept vigil for John at his hospital bedside for two days after his shooting waiting for news about the man who shot her husband, She heard footsteps walk into the room and watched as Paul walked up to her "Hello Yoko" Paul said as the wife of his old friend hugged him "I Don't want him to die" Yoko said crying into his shirt "Me neither Yoko, Me neither" Paul looks at Yoko still wearing the clothes she wore the night John got shot "Yoko, Go home and get some rest, I'll keep on eye on him and call you if something changes"Paul said putting his hands on Yoko's shoulders, Yoko listened to Paul and walked over to the door"Thanks Paul" Yoko smiled at Paul and walked out of the room.
Paul sat by the bed and touch John's hand and started talking "You look like shit" Paul said to the comatose body before him as slightly moved under Paul's hand "I feel like shit" John said as he slowly opening his eyes, Paul looks up at John smiling at him "Hello Paul, It's only me" John giving him that secret look he always gives Paul "I missed the fuck out of you John, Was afraid of losing you" Paul said giving John some water "Good, I wasn't ready to die a rock martyr like Elvis" John said taking a sip from his water.
The two talked in the night about there lives since they last met when Yoko and a doctor walked into the room to notice this moment between old friends "Looks like your out of your coma Mr Lennon"The doctor looks at Paul and back at John "I'll leave you three alone"Said the doctor as he walks out of the room, Paul gets up from his chair "I' gotta call Linda" Paul said as he lets John have some alone time with his wife.
"Linda, I dont think we can be married anymore" Paul said as called Linda from a private room in the hospital, Since Paul last seen John during his separation with Yoko it was clear Paul was still in love with him "If this is what you want Paul?" Linda said calmly on the other end of the phone "Your not mad?" Paul said curiously "No, It all makes sense now" Linda said as Paul had a sigh of relief moment "I'll be back in london in a few days and will talk about this" Paul said and hung up the phone.
Yoko had to go back to the Dakota to the talk to the cops about the shooter so Paul stayed with John "Me and Linda are getting a divorce"Paul said as he was reading a book "May i ask why?" John said as he turned off his TV "Because i love you,That's why" Paul said looking at John, There's a moment of silence until John smiled and gave Paul a peck on the lips "That's all i needed to hear from you" John smiled as Paul kissed him back.
