Monsters

The sun had set but a few minutes ago and amber eyes glowed in the twilit darkness, considering the richly attired lady at hand. The woman's dark hair flowed well past her waist as only nobility could maintain it. In the early evening breeze, it rippled like an ocean tide.

"Longer," Sesshomaru commanded, willing the ebony tendrils to grow. "Add more before the ears. Frame your face."

Her hair now dusting the ground, the woman did as told, patting more black strands into place.

"Part the tresses."

Obediently, she combed her bangs to either side, her forehead exposed. "Better?"

Crossing his arms into their sleeves, the dog-demon's gaze raked over his work. It had to be seamless. "Smooth your chin. Round the jaw."

Slowly, like molding clay, the lady's pretty, heart-shaped face stretched and condensed until the chin receeded and softened in prominence, smooth as the rim of well-fired pottery.

There. That was the countenance of the hateful woman who had once made his great father crumble into weakness. And who would do again to Inuyasha.

The mu'onna blinked her new brown eyes expectantly at her commissioner. Unsuccessfully she tried to conceal her giddy anticipation and a giggle squeaked out from behind her sleeve. A new child to claim! She couldn't wait. "Well, my lord? Does this form please?"

A cruel smile twisted in the corners of Sesshomaru's mouth as he beheld the monster before him. "It will please Inuyasha."

A/N: I think this is a side of Sesshomaru that fans may occasionally neglect and, once in a while, needs to be brought to the surface. Story partly inspired by Aryndiel's "Inugami" http :// www. fanfiction . net/s/5666627/1/ (please remove spaces before using). "Sensei" will continue, but I also felt the urge to post currently written work. Reviews appreciated.
