Katara bent down, filling the pot with water from the river. She took a deep breath of forest air, letting it fill her lungs. When she noticed she was humming.

Katara hadn't hummed in ages, not since before her mother died. She always sang with her mother, but after she died Katara found singing hard, and hated to sing.

But now she found her mouth forming words as she sang for the first time in forever. It felt so good and she didn't want to stop, as she sang from her heart, and sang what she felt.

Her mother always told her to sing what you couldn't say, so Katara started to sing about the one thing she was the most scared to admit. And she sang about Aang.

When I first saw you

You lifted my heart

You finally pulled me,

Pulled me out of the dark

You are my best friend

But lately you feel like more

But I'm scared if I tell you

You'll walk out my door

But I can't escape

These thoughts that I'm thinking

These new feelings

I feel like I'm shrinking

These thoughts that I love you

Are driving me insane

Driving me crazy

Like acid rain

But I know that I love you

But I'm scared to admit

Because I know you're monk

And can never commit

So I'll keep it a secret

At least for now

Because no one can break this feeling

Not even Zhao

I know how I feel

But I don't know if you like me,

The same way I like you

Or to what degree

Ahhhhhhh

Ahhhhhhh

Ahhhhhhh

Ahhhhhhh

Katara finished sitting on the bank of the river looking at her reflection, happy to get her feelings out, and happy to sing again.

But a new reflection soon came into view beside her, it was Aang.

He sat down beside her, and rested his hand on her knee as they stared at their reflections, until Katara broke the silence.

"How much did you hear?" She asked, Embarrassed that he had heard her.

"All of it." He replied, taking in a deep breath.

"Oh." Katara said, feeling color rush to her cheeks, and feeling her face turn red with embarrassment.

"Katara." Aang said after a pause. "I'm glad I heard you." He finished lifting his head to face her. "I'm glad I know how you feel."

"No you're not." Katara spat out, not moving her gaze from the water.

"Yes I am." He said. "Because, because." He stammered. "Because now I know you feel the same way." He finished looking back at the water.

"What are you saying?" Katara said, finally looking up at him.

"I'm saying that now that I know how you feel about me I'm not scared to admit that." He stopped for a second. "That I love you."

Katara just stared at him in shock. She just stared at him before she finally said, "I love you too.

And he turned to face her and smiled while saying, "I know."

As they looked into each others eyes as they moved closer, Aang's arm around her waist. And they sat there together, looking at the still water. Before they kissed for the first time, but certainly not the last.
