So this is my first 'fanfic', although I wouldn't describe it as such due to the nature of my story resembling a spin-off of the Code Geass franchise more than anything else. I apologize for the short length of this chapter, and I will ensure that the following chapters will be at least five times longer!
Disclaimer: I don't own any of the Code Geass characters which are created by Sunrise, though I guess I lay claim to all of my OCs which will be introduced later on.
a.t.b January 5th 2030
"Say, daddy, will I ever be able to explore the outside world?" asked the little girl. Her voice was wondering, curious, and she blinked innocently as she looked up at her guardian.
"Yes. You will." the girl's father parted his mouth again as if to elaborate, but then apparently thought better of it as he closed his mouth and said no more. But afterwards, there was just the slightest smile lingering on his lips; it was subtle but definitely there.
The little girl scowled, annoyed that her daddy was keeping a secret from her. Her daddy was too secretive!
But in the next instant, her face brightened, and she leapt up. The lass waved her arms around wildly and shouted, her voice mingled with mischief. "Come and catch me if you can!"
With a wry smile, the father chased after his daughter. He wouldn't usually engage in such strenuous activity; he had never excelled at sports, and never would, but he would do anything for his beloved child.
Even if it cost him his own life.
