Prerogative

WARNING! Incredibly short drabble warning! Take it with a smidge of salt, as it's pretty raw. Enjoy!
It lay in storage, shored up behind old Tesla coils, and broken blinky lights. Megamind spared some thought for it on occasion. Evil Lair now being 'Secret Lair', Megamind had expanded his hide-away to the underground labyrinth near his old head quarters. Minion had been complaining about the cramped space, what with all of his new inventions – he had suppliers from all over the world, not just distant Romania, - that the storage closet was now one of many.
Sometimes it was that look that Roxanne gave the skyline, almost wistful. They took flying trips frequently, once his hydrapacks had been patented, but he could tell it just wasn't the same.
Sometimes it was the people of Metrocity who looked up to his image now as they had his. But he supposed that shools would still be the same, people as well. They just wanted (needed?) someone out of the ordinary, did it matter that they weren't extraordinary in some ways?
Sometimes it was the mirror. It told him many things – "You're so handsome today, Megamind", "That color looks so good on you, Megamind", or sometimes even "XYZ, Megamind". But Megamind had full capacity of his eyes, which told him that to those sava-I mean – Earthlings, his form was small and slender, his head larger than the norm. Of course, he was incredibly handsome and almost every color looked great on him (Why did anyone subject themselves to the color pink?), but there was his predecessor to consider. That a man of his proportions had been idolized, from birth it had seemed.
He knew that Roxanne would say that she liked who he was, and remind him of all his best qualities, some of which were hard to take. He also knew that Minion would be horrified if he knew the thoughts Megamind had been thinking. But wasn't it the destiny of a hero, to always be sought after by new evil? And so wasn't it Megamind's prerogative to invent and invent and continue to further himself heroically? When an invention failed, as it would eventually, what then?
Yet it could all be solved so easily. With a simple squeeze of a trigger.

Trying to get back into writing, and this niggled my mind at the end of this awesome movie – would Megamind inject himself with the powers of Metro Man, and ensure that Metro City would always be safe? You decide if he did or not! :]
