"I'm not sure this is the best idea…" Maybe you should find someone else to test your schemes on….

"No, it looks good!"

I glanced at the dress in the mirror. Black, short and low cut. Not me at all. But apparently it was the new me, the me that would walk up to some random and ask him if he'd come to the dance with me… Ah, this was not going to end well.

"Come on, we'll be late."

I brushed through my hair once more and turned my back on the mirror. Allie threw me my bag and we made our way out of her room. The high heels did no longer seem like a good idea as I tried to walk down her curving stair case.

We snuck past her parents, but they were unlikely to notice as they were both drunk and were dead asleep on the couch. Allie grabbed the key from the table and her phone. When we were outside we ran through our lines.

"You go first, Allie"

"Um, hi. I'm Allie. I just wondered if you were free next week? 'Cause I have a school dance and you look like you know how to have a good time…" she battered her eyelashes and looked up invitingly.

"Ah, you slut….." It was her biggest trait.

"I know! Your turn…." She laughed. She didn't think I would have come up with anything since yesterday. I took a deep breath and started.

"Hey…" I tried to flutter my eyelashes like she did. "What's your name? I think I know you from somewhere…." I trailed off suggestively. "No? Oh I think I was dreaming. Don't worry about it…." I laughed and flicked my hair. "Well if I don't know you I guess it's okay if I embarrass myself… I have a school dance next week and I was wondering if you wouldn't mind coming… with me?" I smiled invitingly. "My number? Sure!"

I glanced at Allie. Her expression was shocked. "Um, was that okay?" I asked.

"Okay? It was slutty beyond belief and absolutely amazing!"Allie exclaimed. I laughed. I was relieved.

While we were talking we had arrived at the mall. A gang of teenage boys were standing next to the fountain. "Attack formation," Allie muttered under her breath.

I straightened up, making sure my hair was okay. Allie turned to me, speaking louder than usual. "Just wait for me here, okay. Love ya!" She strode away. I waved goodbye and went to lean against a wall near the fountain. Then I looked toward the guys.

There were 7 of them. My lucky number…..
