AN: This
was my first Fastlane fic, I posted it over on
one of my Yahoo groups. But there are
more ficcies to come.
This is just a one shot-er. It's short sweet and PG.

"Ha ha! I
won!" Deaq crowed, jumping under the overhang at
his front door. He looked back to see Van walking dejectedly through the heavy
rain that had unexpectedly blown in. "Come on man, if you get any wetter
you are not coming in my house."
"Well,
if you would have an umbrella I wouldn't be wet" Van said petulantly,
making his way up the few steps.
"Van,
this is LA-how often does it rain? Anyway, you're just mad because I made it
under here first," Deaq nudged Van's shoulder
"and now you look like a drowned sheep dog."
Van
just let out an angry huff. Deaq turned away and
fished his house key out of his pocket. As he was unlocking the door, he
glanced back, "Hey, you..."
Van
had managed to get most of his soaking hair out of his face and was wringing
the water out of his t-shirt. When Deaq spoke, he
looked up and found the other man staring at him. "What?..."
Deaq heard his partner but didn't have any idea what to say.
When Van had looked up at him with those green eyes through his lashes, Deaq felt something catch in his throat. Van was beautiful. He was wondering how he'd never noticed it
before.
Van reached out and shook his partner. "Hey Deaq, you okay? Deaq?..."
Deaq shook his head to clear his thoughts. "Yeah, yeah
I'm good" he answered vaguely.
"Well, are you goin'
to open the door?"
Deq turned and fumbled with the door handle for a second then
stopped. He didn't want to start second guessing himself. Before he could
change his mind, he whirled around and grabbed Van.
Van was taken off guard. "What are you..." he started, but was silenced when Deaq's mouth closed over his own. It wasn't one of those "peck on the lips" things either. It was one of those kisses that left you floating for hours afterward.
Then, as soon as it started, it was over.
Van
was thinking it was over way too
soon. He opened eyes he didn't even realize he'd closed. Deaq
was looking back at him, uncertainty written all over his face.
"Van...I..."
Van
leaned up and gave him a quick kiss on the mouth. "Why don't you finish
unlocking the door..."
Deaq smiled.
