Hanayu was getting ready for another night at Sushidokoro Hyuga. She was going to do a great job as a waitress so Mrs. Hyuga's plan to lure in middle age male customers would succeed. Then the sushi shop would become even more famous and popular. When she took over the shop customers would come from far and wide to eat her delicious sushi! Hanayu could see the future now.

"Hana-chan, can you come over here?" Hanayu almost dropped the tray she was carrying as Mrs. Hyuga's voice jolted her out of the daydream.

"Yes ma'am!" she replied. "What can I do for you?"

Mrs. Hyuga was standing in front of the sushi counter and Chef was stationed behind it. They both gave her a smile. "We'd like you to work behind the counter tonight. You've got a good understanding of customers, now you need to start learning about the cooking side."

Hanayu's mouth dropped open and her eyes grew wide. "Y-you mean it? Me?! I get to work behind the counter?"

"Yup." said Mrs. Hyuga handing her a neatly folded pile of clothing. "Now, we don't have many reservations tonight but that doesn't mean you can dawdle. Go on and get changed."

"Yes ma'am!" Hanayu took the bundle and eagerly rushed back to the employee dressing room. Once there she exchanged her hair bow and kimono for the white pants, coat, and apron of a sushi chef.

Hanayu examined herself in the mirror. It looked great on her. "Yeah, this outfit suits me much better," She thought. "I'm almost as cool as Chef." Her dream of becoming a sushi chef no longer seemed like a far-off daydream. Now that Hanayu had told her parents she wouldn't be taking over the bakery and she'd started working here she felt closer to achieving her dream than ever.

Hanayu looked at her reflection again. She broke out in a big grin and hurried back to the front of the shop.

She still had a ways to go, but at least now she looked the part of a sushi chef. Now let's go make some sushi!
