A/N: What can I say, yal have inspired me to write a new fic. It references my previous story, but only just. If you didn't read that one, this one can stand alone just fine. I've always loved the song "Moonshadow" by Cat Stevens, and it worked here. I must also sight the art of RamaChan over at Deviant Art. Her Shika/Tema artwork is beyond words! I hope yal like this story if not, that's okay...I do. This is a One-Shot.
Disclaimer: I don't own Naruto or anyone/thing in this story. The song "Moonshadow" is by Cat Stevens, I don't own that either.

She was the culmination of a finally realized dream.
One her father'd had since childhood. One her mother had never thought possible. Her name was Tsukiko (Moon Child). Her father had chosen it so he'd never forget the night he wandered the village. The night he had his first inkling that he had real feelings for her mother.
He'd tried casting shadows by moonlight, but the pain he'd felt had negated all his efforts.
The mobile above her crib consisted of sandcastles.
The curtains at her window were gauzy so that she would always know sunlight or moonlight, the shadows were her friends.
Her ceiling was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds, and the faces of the four winds guarding the corners.
The figure under her stirred. Her green eyes looked into pools of liquid black. A gentle kiss was placed on her nose. The slightest five o' clock shadow scraped against her skin. The chair resumed it's rocking.
"Did it take you long to find me? I asked the faithful light. Did it take you long to find me? And are you gonna stay the night?" A sleepy voice sang.
"I'm being followed by a moonshadow. Moonshadow, moonshadow. Leapin and hoppin on a moonshadow. Moonshadow, moonshadow."
