Author's Notes: I just wrote this because I was feeling super angsty myself about Ziva being angsty. I feel so bad. I don't ship Tiva, but I kinda felt this needed to be written.

The man was fucking clueless.

That's all there was to it. Tony DiNozzo had no clue. At all. She argued and pushed and let her own walls fade away when it came to him, but he still didn't see.

He could have been it. She didn't know. Sayda said she would know, she would just know, when she met her soul mate, but Ziva didn't know. That was just it. She'd never felt that spark, the twinge of fire that told her Tony was her soul mate . . . And she wondered if he really was.

She tried dropping hints, to no avail, because subtlety is apparently lost to men, or at least to Tony. He acted like an ass. And maybe that was his way of letting her down gently, telling her it would never work, he didn't want to hurt her anymore than he had already.

But she didn't want to be let down gently! She was a fighter, and she would battle with him until he told her straight out that he wasn't in love with her, that they couldn't be together, something so she knew she could stop feeling this way.

It was frustrating. Ziva wasn't the type of woman to get caught up with some man, especially one who refused to acknowledge his own feelings. That's the way he was – he wouldn't talk about Jeanne, about the hurt he felt when she left, about how he didn't want to let her in, let anybody in . . .

She just wanted to take him and shake him and make him see that she cared, they all cared, but she, especially, cared, wanted to help him.

But he would refuse and ignore her, ignore the signs.

He had walked past her, and the look in his eyes said no.
