The Aisles of Gallifrey
Walk the aisles of Gallifrey
Across the depths of time
To the lands beyond the misty fogs
Of memories long and gone
Walk among the silver line
Between the moon and over the sea
To the fields burnt many eons ago
By the scorching wounds of yesteryear
Walk among the dead and living
See their pain and suffering
Listen not with your ears, but with your heart
Do they not ache you so?
Walk inside their withered bodies
Through their black and shattered hearts
Their peace of mind and lack of fear
Replaced by lust for revenge
Walk among the mountains of blood and sweat
Among the spoils of war and battle
Smell the air that no longer smells like roses
But instead the thorns of regret
Walk the skies now blanketed in smoke
Its beauty all but vanished
Only serving as a painful reminder
Of what was, but no longer is
Walk among your world, you that walks in the light
And breath a sigh of relief
That you were spared the death, the hopelessness
That plauged so many others
So walk the aisles of Gallifrey
You noble Doctor, you
They who walk in the dark no longer walk
And you may walk once more
