I originally wrote this for a school assessment. Hope you like it. R&R please.

The numerous interviews flew past and before I realised, it was Chaff from district 11. After him, it would be Katniss'. Most of the interviews were tributes questioning the legality of the Quarter Quell and some even asked President Snow to change it!

Now, the person who I've waited for so long is finally getting interviewed. I can't wait to see her reaction when she sees what I created for her. As soon as I finished thinking this, I heard Caesar

Flickerman ask Katniss, "So, Katniss, obviously this is a very emotional night for everyone. Is there anything you'd like to say?" Katniss then replies with her voice somewhat trembling, "Only that I'm so sorry you won't get to be at my wedding… but I'm so glad you at least get to see me in my wedding dress. Isn't it just… the most beautiful thing?"

Then, without needing me to give her my signal, she twirled. Finally, everyone will see my work of, what should I call it? Rebellion. Yes. That's the word. Soon, I heard the crowd gasp and I look up to confirm that my design had worked the way I had programmed it to. And to my relief, my plan has succeeded. Katniss' wedding dress was going up in flames. I saw a flicker of panic in her eyes, but she was smart enough to keep twirling. When she realised the flames had ceased, she slowly came to a stop.

She seemed confused as she looked down to look at what's left of her wedding dress. In its place was a dress in the exact same design, but in black with tiny feathers. Then by her facial expression,

I know she has, at last, realised what I had transformed her into. I have transformed her into a mockingjay.

Even though I know I will probably pay the price later, I am ecstatic that my weeks of hard work had given me the result I longed for. I have shown everyone – the people in the districts, President Snow and the citizens of the Capitol – that even I, a small designer, can create my own act of rebellion.

President Snow can bribe me, torture me, even kill me, and I won't betray my underground organisation that will overthrow the Capitol.

Now that everyone has seen my mockingjay costume, I will anticipate the day when Katniss will agree to be the face, the voice and the leader of the rebellion. The day when she will see the words on the last page of my sketchbook. The exact phrase I had said to her the day she went to the arena for the first time. The words, I am still betting on you. The day when she will put on her army uniform, and see I have, once again, turned her into a mockingjay.

I know that I will be taken away for my dress very soon, so, ever so silently, I whispered to Katniss,

"Goodbye and good luck. Katniss, the girl on fire."
