She May Be My Snowflake, But…
Chapter 1
You walked through the corridors of the prison aimlessly. You had nowhere to be at this time. You sighed as you came across the weight room, seeing Senji working out tirelessly.
"Hey," you called, standing in the doorway. The dark haired man looked up, a smile spreading across his face.
"Hey, (f/n)! I haven't seen you in a while!" he exclaimed, sitting up on the bench. You shrugged and combed your fingers through your (h/c) hair.
"I've been feeling a bit reclusive. When I wasn't scheduled for fights, I was hiding from…. Everyone," you mumbled, biting on your lower lip. Senji stood and crossed the room, standing in front of you.
"Does this reclusive behavior involve a certain male with mint hair and crazy eyes?" he asked seriously. You blushed darkly. Senji was the only one who knew that you were in love with Toto Sakigami, also known as the Mockingbird. You weren't quite sure when the urge to kiss him had started; all you knew was that you couldn't keep him off your brain. His recent disappearance hadn't helped either. They do say that absence makes the heart grow fonder, after all.
"What in the world would make you think that, Crow?" you said with a sneer. The ex-cop smirked and walked back to the bench.
"You may be interested in knowing that the psycho has returned to us, (f/n)," he called over his shoulder, leaving you gaping in the doorway. At that point you took off running for the air vent to get to the place where Shiro stayed. You knew that is where you would find him. He had been stalking her forever.
You had finally made it to Shiro's cell. The girl known as Wretched Egg was a bit disturbing, to be honest, but you had to find Toto. At the sound of his familiar voice, you felt you heart skip a beat.
"He really is back," you whispered, peeking around the wall. You saw him there, sitting next to the albino girl, a smile on his beautiful face.
"So why do you follow me all the time, Toto?" Shiro's voice high and pitchy as usual.
"Because you are beautiful my snowflake," the green-haired boy replied, pressing a kiss to the white skin of the other girl. Your heart dropped to your stomach.
"Oh, so that's why he's here," you muttered. "He loves Wretched Egg. I mean, she's definitely not ugly, I suppose. He could have done worse." You trudged all the way back to your cell and fell onto your bed, the reclusive feeling returning once again as you fell asleep.
"Phoenix, my good friend!" you were startled awake by a smooth voice using your alias. "It has been too long." You sat up to see the gorgeous golden eyes of Toto staring at you. Your first emotion was happiness, but then you remembered what you had witnessed just hours before, and you felt a sharp pang in your heart.
"Hey, Mockingbird," you mumbled, not making eye contact with him. Sensing your mood, the young man cupped your cheeks in his hands.
"What is wrong? You never call me by my bird name? Are you ill?" his voice carrying sincere worry. You shook your head and pulled away from him.
"I just… I saw you with Shiro, earlier. I had missed you and it seems I was replaced by her," you lied. Toto tilted his head and smiled.
"You would be right. Shiro is my new best friend," he beamed, knocking the air out of you like a punch to the gut.
"Oh," you whispered, tears threatening to stream down your cheeks. The golden eyed boy laughed this time, pulling you into a warm embrace.
"Do not cry, (f/n)," he whispered. "You can no longer be my closest friend, because you have become my Beloved." Shocked, you pulled back to look him in the eyes.
"But you kissed her cheek and called her a nickname," you whimpered. Toto's laugh filled the room once again.
"Why, yes, Shiro is my snowflake. But you are my Beloved, (f/n)," he said, wiping away your tears with his thumbs. Before you could respond, you felt his gentle lips on yours as he wrapped his arms around your waist. Blushing darkly, you kissed back, praying this wasn't a dream. After the kiss you looked at him.
"Beloved?" you asked in a hushed tone, pointing at yourself.
"Yes," he replied, embracing you again.
