"What do you mean the flights delayed?!", asked a frantic Remus Lupin, his hair frizzy and dark bags under his eyes from not getting enough sleep. The lady at the flight check in desk pursed her lips for a moment, and then put on a tight smile.
"I'm sorry sir but due to the weather, flight 206 isn't able to take off until it passes, which should be around nine o'clock", she said in her nasally voice. Remus let out a string of curses, running his fingers through his hair.
"But it's bloody Christmas", he protested. The lady took a deep breath.
"Yes I am aware of the date sir. But it isn't safe to fly in this weather, therefor your flight is delayed. So please have a seat or go and occupy yourself because you're going to have to wait another three hours for the weather to pass", she said. Remus groaned, and stomped away from the desk, sitting himself down in a chair in a back row. He had promised Sirius that he would be home by seven so they could at least have Christmas dinner together, but just his luck he wouldn't be able to get home until at least midnight. He hadn't seen Sirius in over a year, all because he took that teaching job. And he barely had time for phone calls, so he was ecstatic to go home for Christmas, and now the bloody flight was delayed. His phone had died when he was waiting in line for security so he had no way to contact Sirius and tell him what was going on. Just great.

Sirius stared at the white door. Waiting, just waiting for Remus to walk through and swoop him up in one of his amazing hugs. Remus was always known for being a tad late, so he wasn't too worried, but he would be lying if he said that he wasn't a tad nervous that he might not show up. But come on, this was Remus. He never broke his promises.

Sirius was worried now. He was worried that Remus couldn't make it. Oor that he got too caught up in grading papers or something and forgot about his promise. But he would be happy as long as he did come home, no matter how late was. Dinner could wait, right?
9:01
Sirius sat at the wood table, pushing around the green beans, a frown tugging at his lips. Remus wasn't coming. He knew this. Remus had never been two hours late. Remus wasn't coming. He would just have to see him next christmas or something.
11:00
Sirius reached up and put the gold glittery star on top of the tree, and sat down, pulling the one present he got himself into his lap. He ripped open the blue wrapping paper, and chuckled a bit.
"Wow, new biking gloves! Just what I wanted", he said dryly, pushing the wrapping paper off of his lap. "Thanks me! Merry Christmas!", he glanced at the clock, and sighed.
11:59
Sirius decided he might as well go to bed if Remus wasn't going to be home, so he stood up and glanced at the door one last time. He began to walk to the bedroom but stopped when he heard a soft knock at the door. Slowly turning back around,, he walked over to the door, opening it. He smilded when he saw who it was.
"'Remus! You made it!", he said loudly. Remus scooped him up in a hug.
"I am so sorry I'm late Pads, the flight was delayed and i was just a huge mess! Please forgive me", Remus whispered, his chin gently resting on top of Sirius head.
"It's ok. I love you Moony" Sirius mumbled, his head pressed into Remus's chest.
"I love you too Pads. I love you too."
