Forgiveness
Forgiveness doesn't come cheap
Like everything else in life forgiveness must be earned
It can never be given
Forgiveness isn't for the faint of heart
It takes time and patience sadly that some people don't possess
Because they are torn between this way and that
The pain you still feel about that horrible day will never go away
The scars are there they are visible but no one can see them
Except those that are truly close to me and understand my pain and heartache
For this was all my fault at the time I was a foolish teenager
Staying out late longer than I should have has now left me with a heavy mind
The burden guilt and shame that I carried around
Year after year of your death was simply too much to bear
Now you and your step brother may not see eye to eye
But you want to make your loved ones understand and stand by your decision
