A/n- I don't own anything you recognize. This piece goes along with After the Storm. But you don't have to read that to understand this.
Instead of laughing with your friends, you're staring at that one girl. Jealousy rages in your silvery eyes as you watch guy after guy spin her around the dance floor. Even after she broke your heart into two, you still love her. You were foolish to think that she loved you back.
It was all a game to her. And you happened to be the first to be played. But it was never a game to you, was it? You really did fall in love with her by mistake. She was nothing short of drop dead gorgeous with her flaming red hair and warm chocolate eyes. Her sweet and innocent personality drew you in even more. But you loved the girl she was before all the games and tricks.
You didn't realize that she was in over her head. Sure, you noticed all the boys paying her more attention after your relationship ended. But you truly didn't know how much she had changed until you started hearing those rumors. You watch her more carefully, trying to see the changes that have happened to her.
She knows you're watching her, but you can't help it. You're still head over heels in love with her. She agrees to meet with you in an abandoned classroom. When you arrive, you're surprised. You didn't think she would show. She's always dressed for the occasion. But you wish she didn't. You wish that she would dress properly. Not those short skirts and low cut tops and high heels. She always looked more beautiful when she wasn't trying.
By the end of the conversation, you're holding her to your chest. You're afraid to let go because you might just lose her again. You make many promises to help her. Before you leave, you whisper those three words that you've been dying to tell her. And instead of laughing at you, she finally cries.
