Paul made his way back from the stage and into the backstage area. The former NXT Champion had just made his debut on Monday Night Raw the night after WrestleMania 34 by teaming up with Seth Rollins and Finn Balor against the Miztourage.

Triple H was the first to congratulate him on his debut followed by Stephanie, his teammates for the night and his opponents. Finally it came to Vince and the nerves set in. The man who could make or break his career was about to give his critique.

"Well done son. You have real potential." He said with a genuine smile and held out his hand.

"Thank you sir. I really appreciate you giving me the opportunity." He said shaking his hand.

"You're welcome and as long as you don't mess it up I see championship potential in you. And by the way, please just call me Vince." He said before sending him on his way.

Paul let out a sigh of relief and met up with Finn.

"So how does it feel finally being on the main roster?" He said wiping his face with a towel.

"It feels like I've finally made it. I mean winning the NXT title was amazing but being on Raw every week is something else. Plus I'm glad that I've got some friends here already from NXT. To help me with the transition into travelling constantly."

"Well you might not have me for long. There are rumours that i'm off to SmackDown next week." He said a bit frustrated.

"Really? I just got here. It looks like you don't want to go. Couldn't you just say that you would rather stay on Raw."

"That's not how it works on the main roster lad. When Vince wants something he gets it. This ain't NXT anymore. By the way you may want to calm down with that Glasgow slang a bit. You're getting a couple of weird looks."

Paul looked around and noticed a couple of crew members looking their way. "Will do."

"But hey, you've still got Dash and Scott. And Lexi. Speaking if which, here she comes."

The duo were then joined by Alexa Bliss who immediately pulled him into a hug.

"Jesus. If I did not see you if think that was Bayley hugging me." He said jokingly as he hugged her back. She was only up to his chest considering he was 6'1 and her only being 5'1.

"Sorry but i'm just happy for you. All of us are finally on the main roster. Us three, Dash, Dawson, Bayley, Mella and Nia. Congrats." She said letting go.

"Thank you. I'm glad we all made it. You're not leaving too though are you?" He asked concerned.

"We don't know. They want to surprise us next week. For now it's only rumours about who's going where. At least since you've been called up you know that you're staying here. The rest of us aren't so lucky."

"Well I hope you both stay. I need some friends here from NXT."

"Me too. Well I will let you two change. We'll need to go for a drink or something at some point before the shake up." And with that she walked away.

Paul watched her walk away and sort of fazed out. He'd admitted to himself a long time ago that he had feelings for the girl but he wasn't going to do anything about it considering she was already engaged.

"Paul. Paul. Paul!" Finn said but he couldn't get his attention. "AJ Mac!" He shouted using Paul's ring name while shaking him.

"Sorry I blanked out for a second there." He said composing himself.

"Yeah I know. Listen man you gotta get over her. She's getting married soon."

"You can't say anything. You've been crushing on Bayley for years now and she's engaged too."

"Actually, she's not. Didn't you hear that they broke up."

"What? When was this?"

"A couple of months ago. She said that it just wasn't working any more."

"And have you tried anything yet?"

"Not yet. I'm waiting for the right time."

"The right time was before she met him and you didn't take it."

"Whatever. I'm need a shower. Talk to you later."

Finn walked off leaving Paul to go to the locker room alone.

"What a day." He said to himself.
