Jak didn't know what he'd do without Daxter. Dax could talk that was true he is loud brash and boastful and Jak loved him for it. For years Jak couldn't say a word and even now he's not much of a talker. Through years of silence Dax was a Precursor send to Jak he didn't care that Jak couldn't talk he was happy to fill the silence himself. When they met new people Dax talked so much they rarely notice the issue assuming Jak was shy or couldn't get a word in edge wise. This was much better than the pitying looks he usually got. Truthfully the constant chatter had become a comforting hum over the years. Dax didn't want Jak the warrior or Jak the decedent of (and possibly actual) Mar he wanted Jak just Jak warts and all and after Haven it felt like he was the only one. How the other misjudge him drove him nuts. They called Dax a coward. A coward would have left him long before that faithful day on Misty Island. Jak had always been a bit of a trouble magnet. No Dax was no coward. He was a complainer yes but who could blame him? The two of them got into some insane situations. What was wrong with pointing out how nut the plan was? Sure Jak was still going to do it he always did but still. Daxter stuck by him no matter what. It was Dax who came for him in D-District, Daxter who followed him to the wasteland when there was no grantee of survival and Dax who stayed by his side threw adventure after adventure crises after crises never wavering when Jak started to turn into a crazed dark eco beast even while Keria turn on him however temporally . Had Dax ran when they first arrived in haven Yes but he came back. Yet the others saw only saw the complaining and labelled him a coward. In the end Jak thought he was the only one who really understood Daxter and vice versa.
