Nobody wanted to admit it to her, but the other teachers could sense that Minamo Kurosawa was in a particularly foul mood. She dismissed her phys-ed class fifteen minutes earlier than usual, and right afterward, she made a beeline for Yukari's classroom, waving a folded sheet of paper decorated in hearts.
"Hey, Yukari," she said. "Look what I found today."
Yukari had seen that look before. Either she was about to get hit, or Minamo had something else up her sleeve.
"Remember that 'love letter' you'd been singing about to everybody? Let's take a look at what it has to say, shall we? 'My dearest Minamo...'"
Minamo read the letter out loud in front of Yukari's class, who were all roused from their half-sleep in order to listen to what they saw as much more interesting conversation. Yukari's face grew progressively redder as Minamo continued to read, until the last line of the letter threw them both for a loop.
"Love...Tanizaki Yukari?!"
Everyone in the room burst into laughter, except for Yukari, who snatched the letter from Minamo's hands. "That was supposed to have been lost years ago!" she shouted.
"Uh, Yukari...you wrote this yesterday. You brought this upon yourself."
