(Being a demon was oddly disorienting in ways that it would be difficult for him to explain. How do you even begin say that you've suddenly been sentenced to live forever because you did not fight hard enough, because you could not uphold an end of a bargain due to unforeseen circumstances?)

((How do you explain that you've just killed someone that you might of loved if given the chance, but your heart stays still and silent in your chest after you've watched her drop to the floor, her eyes empty and green as she stares blankly up at the ceiling?))

The scent of unreality was strong and flowery as the petals from the fields of roses that bloomed in the borderlands of the ever-after blew past him…And he could almost taste his butler's displeasure, as it would of tasted like sour chalk and disappointment if he had been able to eat the emotions pouring out of the other.

(But Sebastian's body warmth was clinging to his skin, like that of an abandoned lover.)

His pride was hurt, and so was he. But he had to begin the new game, to save that destiny, that fate he had chosen. Begin picking up the pieces, Ciel Phantomhive… Put on again that rusting crown, let that glow in your blue eyes shine with their old brilliance…

(He knew that he was on borrowed time; He knew this ever since he came out of the cage, bodies hacked to mangled pieces as he stood on the bloody pentagram.

Then, he had borrowed time on his own terms. This time, however…He was on borrowed time yet again—Eternal time. He could have a chance to have it all, living without worrying. But at the same time, he knew silently that this would destroy him.

Because he would have lost the meaning of his existence: To be able to make his own choices.

He had already made a decision to die at the hands of his butler in a certain way, and he would be damned if a pretentious blond brat would dare interfere with his contract and win in that accursed game of his all because of a pact made anew. He defied fate before.

He could do it again.)

He heard the murmur of Sebastian's voice, He knew what that demon would say... What orders he would fulfill. (Ciel made sure to keep his eyes blue, now.)

"Let's go, Sebastian. To wherever we'll end up." (There was only one place to go, really.)

Distantly, he felt the ground lift, and his servant's rumbling voice said:

"Yes, my Lord."

He had made his choices a long time ago. All there was left was to fulfill them.
