Integra sat at her desk, as she so often did. She looked out into the distance. It had been a year, to the day that the madness had ended. That all their enemies had been destroyed and Hellsing sacrificed itself for the greater good.
They had been the last ones standing.
Integra Hellsing
Seras Victoria
And...
Him.
She knew now that he went by many names, most of which were deceiving and incorrect. He was the perfect soldier, blending into every situation, fallowing to the letter every command.
It had been a year. One year.
The time had gone quickly, and at the same, horribly slowly.
They had rebuilt. In the end, that battle had done some good. It had thinned out the weak, leaving only the strong in their stead. Integra had used that to her advantage, borrowing men from different fields, different countries, from gangs, self employed hit men, she'd hired on the remaining of the Wild Geese…all two of them, and even allowed the occasional Catholic to join her ranks.
She was a brilliant creature, of course. Taking from those that was superior and melding them together had helped the strongest become stronger…of course there was the occasional butting of heads within the arms of the men, but it usually worked itself out.
The headquarters had been rebuilt, it was better now. It had advanced technology, it was better protected.
It was fit for an army.
Integra herself was little different as a person. Her personality remained much the same that it always had. Her mind was certainly sharp as ever. She was still a hidden rose in a palace of thorns…
but that was not important.
The one thing that had changed drastically since the downfall of the great kingdoms of the free world was simple.
Integra was now to be a mother.
No one knew who the father was, well, supposedly no one knew who the father was.
Integra knew who the father was, but she certainly wasn't about to tell.
It was Alucard to whom this new brought the most grief. He had been distraught upon learning that she was with child. Uncharacteristically so, to the point where his half beloved fledgling quickly assessed the situation, and did not some up wanting.
Her hypothesis was quickly to be verified correct by Sir Hellsing herself. It was a joyous occasion, a rare female moment in a dominantly male world.
Alucard, it seemed, was a very unconvincing actor to those who knew him well.
The due date was set in September. September 25, to be exact.
Integra was silently pleased.
Alucard was ecstatic.
Police Girl was jealous, but she was much better at putting on a false face than her master.
They were the only one, the only ones who could appreciate this event for the monument it held. Everyone else was dead. It was a good thing really. If they hadn't been, t would have made it that much worse.
It was time for a new beginning, in more than one area. Things were progressing. Life would go on, as it should. For life does go on, even for those not living it.
A/N- I don't know what this is. It might be just a musing for something bigger in the future. I dunno. This itself, will remain a oneshot.
