Brunski was always a mean son of a bitch, but I enjoyed him as a character nonetheless. Too bad they killed him off, he could have made for lots of great scenes.
SPOILERS for s3e20, Echo House and s4e9, Perishable, and this story probably won't make a whole lot of sense if you haven't seen those. Dialogue from both episodes are used throughout the story and this little piece is just something I could imagine happening while Stiles was at Eichen (and yes I'm most likely going somewhat overboard with Brunski here, but he sort of became a bit more violent than I'd originally intended).
Disclaimer: I don't own Teen Wolf.
Warning: Canon-typical violence (and then some), language, whump, corporal punishment, hurt!Stiles (and Lydia)... Consider yourself warned.
Enjoy :)
Stiles bites his lip and looks at Lydia. He doesn't exactly like the idea of going back to Eichen House, but there is no choice. Not right now. Not when this much is at stake.
"Eichen isn't a library," Stiles says slowly, "you need a warrant to get files from there."
Lydia just looks at him.
"My grandmother left me a list of ten suicides, including her own. There's gotta be a reason why. Is there anyone there who's willing to help us?"
Stiles almost lets out a laugh at that comment. Help at Eichen. Not likely!
"No," he says then, "but there might be someone willing to take a bribe."
Lydia sends him a glance and gestures for the door.
Stiles sucks in a breath and follows Lydia outside. He grabs her wrist before they make it to the car.
"Lydia, there's something you need to know..."
The redhead raises a brow and looks up at Stiles, her heart beating in her chest. Stiles never talks about the days he spent at Eichen House.
"What is it?" she asks softly.
"This guy we're gonna find... he's dangerous."
"Dangerous how?" Lydia tilts her head slightly.
Stiles crinkles his forehead.
"He's a fucking nutcase. And a sadist who enjoys his job a little too much!"
Lydia senses the anger in Stiles' voice and she swallows.
"D-did he hurt you?"
The fleeting expression on Stiles' face tells her all she needs to know...

… Stiles grabbed Malia's shoulder to support her after the planned run-in with Oliver.
"Are you alright?" he asked her and the girl nodded a yes.
They both looked on as Oliver was being dragged away under loud promises of behaving as long as no one drilled holes into his head.
Stiles felt the weight of Brunski's keys in his pocket, and his heartbeat rose a bit, thinking of what he might find in the basement.

The air of the corridor was cold and Stiles sucked in a breath as he quietly made it down the long hallway. His steps were muffled, but Stiles still felt as if he made as much noise as a stampeding horde of animals. He hastily looked over his shoulder but found the corridor reassuringly empty.
The white door shone at him, like a beacon, he mused to himself, and Stiles pulled out the large key ring when he closed the last feet to the big door.
Key after key refused to unlock the strong, impenetrable entrance and Stiles sighed to himself.
"Thought this guy had a key to everything!"
Out of the blue a huge hand latched onto Stiles' shoulder and the teen visibly flinched.
"I do," Brunski rumbled and grabbed Stiles around the wrist harshly with his other hand, "but nobody has the key to that room!"
The head orderly squeezed Stiles' neck painfully as he turned the teen around, and Stiles let out a soft wince as the fingers dug mercilessly into his flesh. Brunski ignored it and just dragged Stiles with him down the hallway.
"I knew you were trouble from the beginning," the big man hissed and gave Stiles a small shake.
The teen felt a surge of annoyance and let out a breath.
"Wow, truly impressive words from a guy working in a loony-bin with an entire wing for the unruly kids!"
If Stiles had looked up he would have seen the grim snarl on Brunski's face, but he was keeping his gaze straight ahead to see where he was being taken. He cried out in surprise when a stinging smack caught the back of his head, making him stumble a few steps forward.
"Aarh, what the hell, man!" he hissed and sent Brunski an angry look.
"You've got a mighty big mouth for a kid in your position, Stilinski. I would watch it if I were you!"
Stiles bit his lip, fighting to not make another snide remark, but he heeded the warning and kept his mouth shut.
Brunski brought Stiles into an office and closed the door behind them.
"Empty your pockets," he ordered.
Apparently, Stiles was too slow to comply and Brunski jammed his hand down Stiles' sweats. The teen let out a string of curses as the other man rummaged through his pockets, and Stiles chomped down on his bottom lip when Brunski drew out the small jar of pills.
"Well, well. What do we have here?" the head orderly said in a mocking, angry voice.
When Stiles didn't answer, Brunski narrowed his eyes and pointed at the chair in front of them.
"Sit!" he bellowed and felt his nostrils flare when the teen just looked at him, "I said sit!"
Brunski grabbed Stiles by the shirt and pushed him forcefully down the wooden seat.
Then the head orderly walked to the other side of the big desk and picked up the phone. He talked briefly to someone on the other end of the line, and it didn't take more than a few minutes before two big guys entered the office.
"This kid needs some alone-time," Brunski said menacingly and Stiles swallowed.
He looked up at the three men and wondered whether Eichen always made sure to hire the biggest goons in the business.
Stiles was ripped out of his train of thought when one of the men yanked him out of the chair, and as soon as they entered the hallway Stiles found himself flanked by both orderlies while Brunski made up the rearguard.
They walked through the maze of similar, white-walled corridors for several minutes before a heavy metal door was finally opened.
"Into the quiet-room, little man," Brunski exclaimed, almost cheerfully, and the two orderlies dragged Stiles into what resembled a holding cell.
They whipped him around to face Brunski and Stiles let out an indignant huff. Brunski grabbed the pill-jar from his pocket and rattled it.
"Wanna tell us where you got these?"
Stiles raised his brows and looked straight at the man.
"Vending machine?!" he answered flippantly and felt both orderlies tug unpleasantly at his arms.
Brunski chuckled lightly and pulled out a syringe, making Stiles freeze a bit.
"I always loved the sarcastic ones," he drawled evilly and sent Stiles a look that made the teen swallow hard.
Brunski handed the syringe to one of the guys holding Stiles.
"Give him 5 Haldol."
The other man grabbed the syringe and Stiles felt the orderlies tighten their grips on him. He sensed his pulse race and panic setting in.
"What is that," he pleaded, desperation already lacing his words, "please, wait, what is that, wait is that a sedative?"
Stiles pulled against the men holding him, but they were way too strong for the teen to throw off. Instead he opted for a change of tactics.
"Okay hang on, hang on, I-I can't go to sleep, okay, I'm sorry, I'm sorry-look, I-"
One of the men bent Stiles over a bit, and the teen felt his muscles tense when the syringe went through the soft sweats and pierced the skin on his ass mercilessly.
"AARH," Stiles yelped when the man pushed the needle in, injecting the sedative in one swift movement, "get off of me, man, ungh, no, no, I ca-I can't go to sleep, you don't understand, you don't, I gotta, you don't get it, I gotta... stay awake. I gotta stay awake."
Stiles fell to his knees first, then collapsed all the way to the floor. He felt his head loll to the side and his vision go blurry. The last thing he saw was Brunski's ugly grin when he pulled the door closed. Then everything went black...

...Lydia sighs and looks out the car window. As if Stiles hasn't been through enough with that whole Nogitsune thing! It hardly seems fair that he has had to deal with a freaking psycho who finds pleasure in hurting innocent kids as well!
"Was that when the Nogitsune took over?" Lydia asks, almost in a whisper.
Stiles chews his tongue and grabs the steering wheel tightly.
"No..."

… A slap to his cheek pulled Stiles away from the haunting nightmares, and he protectively lifted his hands to ward off any further attacks. His breath was hitched and he sighed audibly when his vision finally focused so he could see who had hit him.
"What do you want?" he shot at Brunski, who squatted in front of him.
The man smiled deviously.
"Still need to know where you got these," he said and shook the glass of pills in front of Stiles.
The teen licked his lips and moved to sit up.
"Bought them at the drug market in the girls' bathroom!"
With a comment like that he had expected it, but Stiles still flinched when another harsh slap found its way to his cheek.
"Where. Did you get. The pills?" Brunski demanded and poked Stiles in the chest with a long finger.
"I already told you," Stiles snorted and rolled his eyes.
Brunski bared his teeth in a sneer and pulled Stiles to his feet before giving him such a firm shake that he almost felt dizzy. Brunski narrowed his eyes and pushed Stiles back against the tiled wall.
"Wanna rephrase that, little man?!" Brunski grumbled.
A mix of emotions stirred in the pit of his stomach, but Stiles refused to give in to Brunski's bullying.
"Okay," he started, "I have formerly given you the requested information!"
They stared at each other for a few moments, then Brunski squinted his eyes.
"I wasn't kidding about the sarcastic ones, you know. You make it so damn easy!" he slithered and quickly advanced on Stiles who couldn't help but cower back when the big man approached him.
Brunski's hand shot out and caught Stiles by his ear.
"Aargh!" he whimpered and instinctively placed his own hand over Brunski's in an attempt to remove the fingers pulling so ferociously at him.
Brunski just "tsk'ed" and dragged Stiles with him out of the room and down the long corridor.
"Ow," Stiles exclaimed and narrowed his eyes at the sharp pain, "where are we going?"
Brunski kept a brisk pace and ignored the surprised looks people shot him and Stiles.
"To my office," the man said then, "I figure you could use another dose of Haldol to deal with that smart mouth of yours."
"No," Stiles cried, not wanting to be stalked by the terrifying Nogitsune again,"please don't!"
"Then tell me where the hell you got these!"
Brunski was almost yelling and he pulled so hard on Stiles' ear that a few involuntary tears slipped down the teen's cheek.
"Okay," he squawked, "okay, fine, just let go!"
"Tell me where and then I might."
"I broke into Miss Morrell's cabinet," Stiles spat, hoping that Brunski would believe him.
The head orderly huffed to himself but didn't release his hold on the boy. Instead he tightened his grip and twisted.
"Ahow!" Stiles shrieked and felt more tears spill over, "fuck you!"

The young woman looked up when Brunski entered her office with Stiles in tow, and she raised a somewhat disapproving eyebrow at the obviously distraught teen.
"What can I help you with?" Morrell asked Brunski when he finally let go of Stiles.
The head orderly gave the boy a light push to get him in front of the desk.
"This one apparently has something of yours!"
Miss Morrell put on an appropriately questioning face when she looked at Stiles who was rubbing his left ear gently.
"Yeah, uh," he croaked, "I-uh, I sort of broke into your drug cabinet earlier, so... sorry, I guess."
Brunski placed the small jar on the table and the young woman pinched her lips.
"This is a serious offense, Stiles, what do you think your father would say if he found out?"
Stiles blinked a few times, not really sure what to say.
"Uhh, he-uh, wouldn't be too happy, I guess," he said then, finally letting go of his crimson ear.
"Why'd you steal the pills?" Brunski cut in.
Stiles sent him a wary look, but Miss Morrell egged him on with a nod of her head.
"I have really bad nightmares," he said in a low voice, "and I just don't wanna sleep, okay."
Brunski crossed his arms.
"Thought it was stated that you came here to finally get some sleep?"
"Yea well, shows how much you know, doesn't it," Stiles shot derisively and flinched slightly when Brunski made a threatening, guttural sound.
"Maybe I should show you the punishment for stealing in here!" he said.
Miss Morrell cleared her throat and looked straight at the big orderly.
"I think you've already punished him enough for this, Brunski. Just take him to the living room, I'm sure he won't steal anything else. Right Stiles?"
She added the last words pointedly and Stiles nodded his head vigorously, thinking that Morrell was a pretty convincing actress...

...Stiles parks the jeep and sends Lydia a sideways glance. He has never told anyone about Brunski and what happened in Eichen; not even Scott. He can see tears glistening in Lydia's eyes and Stiles reaches out to squeeze her arm.
"Hey, it's okay, Lydia, I'm fine. I've been through worse, you know. Brunski's just an asshole who gets off on manhandling kids, that's all."
"That's all," Lydia echoes questioningly and looks at her friend, "Stiles, he hurt you. A lot. And you never told anyone!"
Stiles bites his lip and narrows his eyes. He hasn't even told her everything yet.
"Well," he says, "a lot was going on at the time, you know. The Nogitsune, killing Allison and all that."
The look in Lydias' eyes almost makes Stiles regret his words.
"Stiles when are you gonna stop blaming yourself for that?"
The silence in the car is deafening and Stiles rubs his neck.
"I don't-, I'm not," he says, looking for a way to express himself, "not ever, Lydia, okay. I'm never gonna let that go. I can't!"
His voice cracks a bit and Lydia wants nothing more than to pull him close and hug him. But when she starts moving Stiles has already opened the door and is climbing out of the jeep. Lydia can hear him clear his throat and she carefully wipes away the single tear that is rolling down her cheek. She takes a deep breath and looks at the building in front of her. It doesn't exactly look inviting, but when Stiles nudges her gently in the back they both start up the stairs.
Lydia feels a chill shoot up her spine and she sucks in a long breath.
"Well, here goes nothing, I guess."
I hope you liked part 1. Part 2 will be up shortly (and I promise I'm working on the next chapter for There and back again). Reviews always make my day, so feel free to leave your thoughts about this story :)
