I Bet It Stung

He smiled at her, and she smiled back.

"I got you something." he mumbled sheepishly. She grinned in expectation.

"What is it?" she asked, pushing her golden curls out of her eyes. He reached into a pocket in the jacket of his suit, and pulled out a heart. It was big, red, and made of felt, still beating.

"My heart." He gave it to her. She looked at it, and then him, before crumpling it up with one had, and throwing it into the snow. She got up and left while he stared at his crushed heart.

A girl who had been watching came and sat down next to him. "I bet it stung." she said after a moment. He nodded. She bent down into the snow, and picked it up. Red leaked from the heart, staining her white dress. She uncrumpled the heart, and smiled at him.

"Can I put my heart into your chest?" he asked with a small smile. She shook her head. He frowned, and looked down at the red snow.

"Only if I can put mine in yours." she said finally. He looked up and saw her stitching up his heart. He took her big red perfect heart, and she took his big, stitched heart, and they put them into each others chests.

"Thank you." he said.

"You're welcome." she replied.

"I... love you."

"I love you, too." she smiled.

I don't care what you people think. I think it's adorable, and twisted.
