The night was dark. Too dark for her preference. She never did well in the dark. It tended to scare her. Unable to see the world around you. Unable to protect yourself. She felt defenseless. She stared unto where her eyes grew sore.

"Need to sleep," she muttered to herself.

She lay on the cold, damp ground. It felt horrible. She never slept outside before. Normally it was a warm, comfy bed that awaited her when she grew tired. Now it was a hard rock that had become her sleeping place.

"Hate this," she murmured. "I absolutely hate this."

No one should ever live this way, she thought to herself. No one lives this way, how could they? She could barely stand a night doing this. how could anyone spend their days, weeks, years like this?

Her eye lids grew weary. Her sight, already dark from her surrounding, grew fuzzy. The colours danced around the inside of her eyelids. Soon she was out, at the mercy of her dream world.

There. The first chapter of my story. Pretty short. But I'm setting it up. Hope you like.
