It was Tim's first day at his new school; He was exited and nervous all at the same time. Because his family moved around a lot, he had been homes schooled during Kindergarten, but now he got to go to real school!
Whne he entered the classroom, the other students were in the middle of a spelling lesson. The teacher stopped and introduced him to the class.
"Hi." he gave a meek wave to the class.
"Tell us something about you, Tim." the teacher implored.
"Umm, I like books" There was a hint of question in his voice.
"Goodie, goodie! We're just about to start reading time!"
After a lovely rendition of The Very Hungry Caterpillar, Tim was instructed to sit at a table next to a little girl with a stuffed hippo in her lap and two long inky pigtails tied up with red bows on her head. Tim missed most of the lesson because he was so immersed in this angel's beauty.
By the time lunch rolled around Tim was sure he was in love. If only he knew this beauty's name. Teachers ushered them out to recess and the kids began to play. Little Tim wasted no time. He plopped down and began scheming how to learn the girl's name.
Deep in thought, Tim didn't even notice a pair of perfect pigtails skipping towards him.
"Hi. I'm Abby. You're Tim right?"
Tim nodded, a bit in shock.
"Do you want to play in the sand with me?"
One enthusiastic nod and Abby had grabbed his hand.
"Come on Timmy, we're going to build a tower to the moon!"
