Falling.

I'm falling, falling.

I dive towards the far-away ground,

Tiny specks of land and water are rocking below me

Seeing the blue of the sky I pass through

I think there must be details,

But they are all a blur

As I fall.

I'm approaching, advancing.

I move closer to the water, crashing below.

Inhale deeply, I savour the crisp, cool air speeding around me

It's almost to fast to catch,

But the salty-sweet smell of the ocean

Lies buried in the breeze that holds me

As I collide.

I'm meeting, greeting.

The force of the crystal water.

Soaking through my clothes with it's bitter coolness

Numbs my limbs with icy breath,

Making me shudder while my body begs

For the warmth it once knew

As I sink.

I'm noting, noticing.

The water sucking me up hungrily

Like I'm a tasty morsel as I sink deeper through inky depths

I'm waiting to hear the sound of it all

But eerie silence is all there is

Nothing but heartbeats

As I fade to black.

I'm pulsing, waiting.

A sudden rush courses through my veins

The will to surface rises against the intoxicating waters

I look up through churning water where shafts of light shine through

And as my face breaks into the topsy-turvy world

I breathe.
