AU. Drabble format. The Gate activated before the sword Kurikara was drawn.
The visage of Rin's adoptive father, the priest Father Fujimoto, fell apart from the demon as they passed through the Gate.
A wide grin showed off Satan's fangs, and blue eyes glowed in mirth.
"Welcome to Gehenna, my son!" Satan cackled as he and Rin fell towards their destination - the Royal Palace of Gehenna.
Rin felt heavy, as darkness closed around him. He drew his legs in and curled up. The heaviness, coupled with the thinning air, soon made him unconscious. He did not awaken even when he landed upon the hard floor of Satan's private room.
The demon sword Kurikara fell with them, clattering down loudly next to Rin. Satan, having landed lightly on his feet, scoffed at the sight. With one clawed hand, he picked up the sword, careful not to touch the anti-demon seals still on the scabbard and grip. With the other hand, he picked up his son.
