Hallo, and thanks for coming. Yep, this is my first fic. Read and review! Flames will be laughed at, constructive criticism and nice reviews will be appreciated! (:

Disclaimer: I do not own Shaman King – it belongs to that lucky dude. But I do own the story.

A/N: This takes place between 12 a.m. to 4 a.m.

Schumck presents:

Night.

The boy crept silently down the stairs and into the kitchen.

He slid open the back door, only to find a familiar blonde sitting on the edge of the porch gazing at the stars. There was a steaming cup of tea beside her.

"Good morning," he greeted the girl cheerfully and plopped down on the empty space next to her.

She answered with her usual silence.

"So, what're you doing up so early?"

"Couldn't sleep."

"Ah, me too."

They sat there without saying anything again for a while, until he opened his mouth.

"The stars are really beautiful tonight, huh?" He lifted his head. The sky was literally filled.

"Yes, they are," she replied after a few moments. He widened his eyes.

Did… did she just agree with him? He couldn't read her face.

I guess she did.

"Constellations."

"What?"

"Constellations. Do you know of any?"

"Uh…" Was she testing him? He was doing okay in school, averaging with 'B's… an occasional 'C'… an 'F'… or two… Let's not go into that subject shall we?

"Well, there's the Big Dipper, a-and the star signs. And… and…" he faltered.

"Can you see any tonight?"

"No…" He searched the sky.

"Hey! That looks like you! Your very own constellation!" he said half-jokingly, using his finger to join up a cluster of stars.

Oops. His smile disappeared as fast as it came. Was she going to get angry?

However she merely shifted her eyes to look at him, before moving them back to their original position. A smile was creeping up her face.

He broke into a grin.

A chilly breeze blew past, and she pulled her robe tighter around her. Suddenly she felt a warm arm touch her own.

She turned her head and found the boy just milimetres away. With his trademark smile plastered on his face, he said, "It's warmer if we're closer, ne?"

Ah. The corners of her mouth were curving up again.

"That," she whispered, pointing to a bunch of stars, "looks like you. Your constellation."

He widened his eyes for the second time.

DID SHE JUST MAKE A JOKE?

He dropped his jaw, before chuckling softly.

It was better than Chocolove's.

What time was it?

They had been sitting there together for quite some time now. He was getting tired.

She drained the last of her tea, stood up and sa-no, ordered, "Wash the cup."

He heard the door slide open, then close again.

He gave a content sigh, and picked the cup up. Glancing at the stars for the last time, he followed her in.

She's back. But the other side of her was nice too.

-end-

Yeah… kinda fluffy ain't it? Oh well. Review and have a nice day!
