Please go easy on me, it's my first story. Be nice to the newbie:)

Every single person we meet, see or hear about holds a title. Sometimes they hold more than one. These titles can be given to people by either society, or by the bonds created with a person.

A title could be friend, family member, acquaintance, classmate, boss or stranger. Some of these titles can be flattering depending on that persons own feelings; lover, crush and idol. A celebrity can feel a strong bond to his or her fans, if they are supportive of course.

Sometimes these titles are worth less than nothing to you. The bond between a parent and a child can be weakened by betrayal, mistakes or lack of attention and love. The bond never disappears though; it only changes the title. Nemesis, enemy, disappointment and hateful is never something you want to be seen as in others eyes, but unfortunately bonds can be chains too.

When a person with an important bond and title to you dies, it hurts. It's a pain that may disappear with time, but chains very rarely disappear. Chains occur when a bond is strained or tainted. They stay and weigh you down.

Kurosaki Ichigo had a lot of titles. To his sisters he was a brother, and to be more specific big brother; someone they could turn to and whom they trusted. To his dad he was a son, or "the amazing, and sometimes ungrateful fruit of my loins"!

At his school he was a delinquent (at least to those who didn't know him that well), a student (good or bad depending on the teacher), a classmate and of course a friend.

To the thugs of Karakura he was known as a rival, a threat and when they whispered about him behind his back: Carrot Top Kurosaki. Not in a million years would they say that to his face though! They liked their bones unbroken, thank you very much!

To the people in Soul Society he was known as something completely different, a hero. Kurosaki Ichigo had beaten Aizen Sousuke the traitor captain, and sacrificed his powers to save the world. He was the hotheaded and fierce protector. A title he would have loved to be called… if another didn't overshadow it. A title Ichigo had given himself so many years ago, and which was so disgusting that no prize or victory could erase it.

Murderer

His father had told him it wasn't his fault, that he was not to blame. But to Ichigp it stood clear; he HAD killed his own mother. He knew that, the moment he woke up cold, dizzy and drenched in rain and blood. His mother's still warm body on top of him, protecting him confirmed his worst thoughts. His mother was dead because of him, his beloved, beautiful mother.

Ichigo bound a chain to himself many years ago. A chain he would carry to the very end, and never forget how he got.
