A studious girl sat quietly in the Gryffindor common room, absorbing the warmth of the merrily crackling fire while reading. So involved was she in the intracacies of Hogwarts: A History that she didn't notice a bit of pale pink and red creeping up silently towards her until the book was plucked unceremoniously from her hands. Hermione whipped her head around.

"Give it back," she said calmly, her hair frizzing madly.

Fred - or was it George? - held the book up to his ear, nodding intently.

"Yes, yes. I see. George?" He handed the book to his counterpart, and George opened it and perused the contents, his mouth twitching.

"Oh, Fred. I think it just can't stand being cramped up in here much longer. It's time to let it go. "

Fred nodded solemnly and opened the nearest window.

"What are you doing?" Hermione asked dangerously, her eyes furious.

George didn't spare her a glance as he tossed it out the window. Before the book was a foot into falling, Hermione was there, trying desperately to reach it. But it was too far. She turned around slowly, shaking. Fred shrugged helplessly, terrified of what he'd just done. He turned towards George.

"It wanted freedom?"

They say that the Weasley twins' shouts of terror as they ran through the halls can still be heard today.

A/N:List of what not to do number 173: I must not throw Hermione's Hogarts: A History out the window and then claim that it wanted freedom.

Review, don't review, but it would make me happy for feedback! Have a good night!
