A random one-shot that I came up with. Hope you guys like it. I literally came up with this in half an hour just because I felt it was a good idea. Enjoy!

The star ship cruised through open space as it made its way to Naboo. The republic needed Senator Amidala at her home planet. Escorting her were Anakin Skywalker, Ahsoka Tano, and Rex's team, as well as a few other clones.

"Commander Tano." Rex greeted as he saw Ahsoka sitting on top of her star fighter. She blinked from being spaced out and waved at Rex.

"Hey Rex. You know you can just call me Ahsoka right?"

Rex nodded. "Of course Ahsoka."

"What's up?" Ahsoka said.

"Nothing. Just doing rounds of the ship." Rex sighed. "Again."

"Well, it's not like this a major mission. We're just escorts, not much will happen." Ahsoka said.

"I know. I just feel like we should be doing more to try and win the war." Rex said.

Ahsoka decided to change the subject. "Have you ever wondered why clones don't have last names?" she asked randomly.

"What?" Rex said, wondering why the Padawan would ask a question like that.

"Well, all clones have a number, and most have nicknames, but you never meet one with a last name." The teenager inquired.

"Um. I don't know how to answer that." Rex said, befuddled.

"I mean, even though you're clones, you're still people. Why can't clones have last names like other people do?" Ahsoka went on. Then she turned to Rex. "What would your last name be?"

Ahsoka's communicator went off before Rex could answer.

"Ahsoka. Come up to the bridge. Bring Rex with you." Anakin's voice said over the com-link.

"On our way Master." Ahsoka responded. She and Rex headed up to the bridge. The entire way thought about what Ahsoka had said.

At the bridge were Padme, Anakin, and a Gungan, who Padme introduced.

"This is Meen-Meen Birs, a representative of the Gungan council in Otoh Gunga. Meen-Meen, this is Padawan Tano and Captain Rex."

Meen-Meen said something in his language. "He wants to know if Rex is your full name, or if you have a last name." Padme translated reluctantly. Anakin was about to say something, but Rex beat him to it.

"It's Sottak, sir." Rex said. "Rex Sottak."
