Vincent smiled cruelly and brushed at his white blonde hair, his wand pointed at my chest. His gang, Sam, River, and Ivan were laughing. All of them were Slytherin. They were a gang of bullies that everybody knew about. I didn't want to be late for charms again. But here I was on the ground. Previously, Vincent blasted my books out of my hands so I had to pick them up. But as I attempted to pick them up Vincent pushed me back and pointed his wand at me. I hated them. They always picked on me, and stole my things. I looked at Vincent, his dark green eyes matched his Slytherin tie. People kept walking past in the halls not paying us any attention. But there was this one girl who held a broom that gave me a look of sympathy as she walked past. I watched her brown ponytail swish and her Hufflepuff scarf sway as she walked away.

"Hey Mandy," Sam teased. "Where are you going?"

"To class," I said. I crawled over to my books and started to gather them up but River and Ivan pushed me back.

"No, you aren't," Vincent said, his eyes studied me.

"Please just let me go!" I begged. If they didn't. I had a plan. But for now I would play innocent.

"Give us all your Sicles," Ivan commanded. His dark hair almost covered his eyes. His wand was in his hand. It would be hard to disarm four boys. But I had to try.

"One second," I said calmly. "Just let me get my books." I scooped up all my books. I was aware of all the boys watching me. They all had their wands pointed at me. Why were they so mean? I might never know but I needed to get to charms. If I was late one more time Professor Flitwick would take 5 points off Ravenclaw. I stood up. All the boys were looking at me, waiting for me to give up my money. Instead I grabbed at my wand from my pocket as fast as I could.

"Expelliarmus!" I shouted. Sam's wand flew out of his hand. "Expelliarmus! Expelliarmus! Expelliarmus!" Ivan, River, and Vincent's wands all shot out of their hands. I pushed past the angry boys. I caught Vincent's eyes for a moment. For the longest time I thought it was confusion but I later realized it was interest. But it didn't matter to me then. I rushed to charms class, ignoring the shouting of River and Ivan and the threatening of Sam. I outsmarted them again but some day I was scared that they would really hurt me.
