The family of 5 had completed a normal dinner and now the Adams Fosters began cleaning their plates and retiring any leftovers to the fridge.

"Alright, we just have to wipe down the table and we're done for tonight!" Stef excitedly stated, placing her hands on her hips.

"Mom and I can take care of this one you guys, why don't you all finish up your homework?" Lena added.

When the kids began their ascent to their bedrooms, Stef's voice cut the ambient sounds of shoes scuffing the wood floor.

"Callie, could you come back for a minute?" Panic was evident in Callie's eyes.

"Have a seat, sweets." Stef gestured to an empty stool and she moved to stand beside it.

Callie sat down, her fear slowly dwindling, but still quite evident in her eyes. Stef stared into these eyes now: she loved them. They were Callie's tell, and Stef always used them to gage her daughter's hidden emotions.

Stef attempted to calm her daughter's nerves. "Sweetheart? Can you look at me please?" Callie's deep brown eyes slowly met hers.

"Calm down, baby. We know that you know your actions were wrong..."

"So...," Lena continued.

"We've decided that you are grounded for a week for all of this lying. Home, school, and the center only, please. If something like this happens again, which it NEVER will," Stef added sternly. "Then you need to tell us immediately! You need to trust that we will help you. We want you to come to us with your problems. We're your moms. It's what we do. We are going to be spending a lot more time together this week, with you being grounded and all."

Callie smiled, her eyes once again focused on the floor. Both moms found it odd. Stef looked down at Callie. "You like being grounded? That's a first for our kids." Stef laughed a bit at her own joke.

"No! Definitely not! I just… I like how normal all of this seems. I love you." Callie tilted her head up to look at her mothers, her smile beaming even brighter now.

"Well, we love you too, baby. Forever and always." Stef added, walking close to the stool where Callie sat.

Callie received a kiss on each temple from her two moms. She turned to hug each one, feeling safe in the arms of the women who love her more than anything. After an additional kiss from each mom, Stef helped Callie off of the stool and playfully said, "Alright now, my baby… Get upstairs and do your homework! Learn something!" She gently swatted Callie up the stairs before turning to her wife.

"What are we going to do with that one," Stef lightheartedly chuckled.

"I just love her so much. I wish that all of this with Robert would go away so she can be our daughter forever."

"I know, love. But it'll happen. I promise. I will make sure it does, and I won't stop until she is officially an Adams Foster." Stef hugged her wife tightly.

Unknown to the couple, Callie was eavesdropping on the bottom stair. A single happy tear rolled down her cheeks, which were flushed at all of the complements she had secretly received. A smile spread across her face, and she quietly dashed up the stairs. This was the feeling of home.
