Notes: My first time writing in the Ugly Betty fandom. I'm only in season 2, but hopefully I will write more as I continue to watch the episodes.

Betty stared at Daniel. She couldn't believe the woman she had idolized could play with a man's heart in such a cruel way.

She knew Daniel wasn't a saint of course, but what he had felt for Sofia was real. And his heart was broken by a bitch who only cared about her magazine.

Betty internally winced at her coarse language, even if it was only in her head. She took a deep breath as she gathered her courage to walk into his office.

She nodded to herself. She took steps away from his desk and cautiously walked into his office. "Daniel?"

He didn't look up from his papers on his desk. "If you're done, Betty, you can go home."

She swallowed. "I want to say something first."

"Betty," Daniel sighed, finally looking up to meet her eyes.

"Daniel, Sofia made a huge mistake when she played you like that. She lost a great guy, and she will regret that one day when she's all alone. What's important, though, is that you learned something from Sofia."

"What?" he asked, and she knew he was truly curious.

Betty smiled tentatively. "You learned that you don't have to be a womanizing man slut. You can actually care about a woman when you want to. And there's a woman out there that is very deserving of that care, and I know you'll find her one day. If you don't close off your heart and you let yourself care, that is."

Daniel stared into her eyes. After a couple of beats of silence, he finally said, "Thanks Betty. Now, go on home."

She nodded. She wasn't sure if he believed her words, but hopefully, he would come to see his own worth.
