Not too many years ago, on an autumn day,

the Crowned Prince of NAm went outside to play.

Loved by his people, he was never in danger

until one day, he lost a wager.

.

A sly young wizard from faraway came.

He tricked the Crowned Prince to play his little game.

The first to fall would lose,

The winner, able to chose

a suitable penance to the one who lost.

To play the game, had a cost.

.

The first to fall, that Crowned Prince was.

Follow the wizard's beckon he must.

But the crowned Prince called the wizard a cheat,

the previous conditions, he would not meet.

.

The Prince and his kingdom, the wizard despised.

Back in his tower, he planned their demise.

He would bring the people of the kingdom to their knees.

To offer their prince, only then would he cease.

.

Months pass, the kingdom in disarray.

War and illness plagued the day.

While at night, in the whispers of the cold,

treachery and treason of many unfold.

.

Stakes in the air, the angry people's pride,

threatened the King to change the foreboding tide.

The King and his Council could find no other way.

The King hath no choice, he sent his son away.

The Crowned Prince, now banished to the wizard's side,

sought one forgotten fellow to whom he could confide.

.

Alas the wizard and the Prince met.

The wizard chanted, the curse was set.

Use his looks to kill and survive,

he need not food, only attention to revive.

If ever he was forgotten,

he would cease to exist. How he hoped for that to never happen.

.

Now too many years ago, on this fateful day,

the Prince of Nam was cursed in every way.

Banished by his people to save their own hides,

he left with not a word, nor a whimper as he cried.

.

A twist

in this tragic tale most had missed.

For the Crowned Prince had brother,

who's loyalty was like no other.

Long forgotten, he took his brother's place.

No one noticed, after all, they had the same face.

.

T'was he who met the wizard that day.

He who holds the curse this very day.

.

*AN: Hey guys :) This is just an old poem I had lying around. Though I don't mention it, it should be pretty obvious who is who in this poem. Just thought I'd post it.

Actually I was thinking of making a story out of this but...I don't know. I just haven't had the time to. Depends if anyone is interested I guess.
