The Song of Himeko

The lass who daily in a quiet town laid down her head,

Was sure that never truer words were said-

"Girls whose inclinations double run

Live half in shadow, half in sun"

For her life was drama episodic,

Her struggles both romantic and robotic

Two loving hands her schoolgirl's heart did woo,

And things like these split schoolgirl heart in two

One boy her love would openly request,

A dark and handsome girl laid silent claim the rest

Together these three lovers steeled their wills,

And all took arms against most wondrous ills,

For though our girl did always as was bidden,

In her heart was secret courage hidden

For though oft in meekness she would swoon,

Truly she loved the priestess of the moon

Sadly her feelings were suppressed

But now this poem has digressed

Though love is often first in souls so young,

For these a greater epic could be sung

Demons their world were freely ending,

So while their spring-like hearts were rending,

They fought against the cruelty of hate

As was their role, decreed by fate

The earth by demons was beset

What matter if our heroine was het?

But all that was of great import,

As handsome girl turned to her last resort

Though fate in her caused great tumult

It didn't justify assault!

Our heroine ran back to her boyish friend,

And waited for the feeble world to end,

From then on all things passed in frantic flurry,

It was the classic tragic yuri

And when our heroine laid down her head,

She knew that never truer words were said-

"Girls whose inclinations double run,

Have double sorrow and have double fun"
