This is my first attempt at a Grey's Anatomy fanfiction. I thought I would write a light and fluffy one for starters.
In the wee hours of the morning, Bailey gave her interns a much needed break, and they decided to go outside to catch a breath of fresh air.
Alex followed Izzy outside as she sought out some fresh air. It had snowed a bit since this morning, and the ground was covered with the white stuff. An evil smile crossed Alex's face as an idea popped in his head. He bent over, scooped up some snow, and threw it at Izzy, catching her in the shoulder. "Hey," she called out to him, as she spun around to face him. "Alec, that is very childish."
"So," he teased, as he picked up another snowball. She automatically moved in front of him and put up a hand on his chest to stop him. "What are you going to do to me, Dr. Model?"
"I have an idea," Izzy replied, as she shoved Alex back into the snow. He retaliated by sending snowballs in her direction, but she had moved and the snowballs found new targets with the other three interns who had walked out of the door at the moment. Izzy broke out laughing as Meredith, George, and Christina gave him a hard look. "Sorry guys."
"Yeah, that was meant for Izzy," Alex said, as he quickly got to his feet. "But I'm really talented if I heard the three of you."
"Get him," Meredith commanded, as she and the others gathered up snow and took off after Alex. He spun around and took Izzy hostage.
"You wouldn't strike, Izzy," he teased, as they circled them. "You're better than me."
"Not right now. Sorry, Izzy." They threw their snowballs at Alex and Izzy. He quickly turned them at the last minute so that she was blocked.

Inside the hospital, Shepherd found Bailey watching them playing in the snow. Alex was being chased by George, while Izzy and Meredith ganged up on Christina. "Looks like fun," Shepherd said to Bailey.
"If you want, you can go join them?" she said in respond.
"Nah, let them have their fun. They need to relax somehow. Being an intern is not easy."
"No, it is not." Bailey then headed off to do her rounds and Shepherd watched them for a few more seconds before he did the same.

Alex finally got George with another snowball but collided with Izzy as he tried to get away from Meredith and Christina. Before either of them could get up, they were bombarded by snowballs. "Okay, I surrender," Izzy cried out, as she put her hands.
"And you, Alex," Meredith asked, as she held a snowball at the ready. "You do surrender."
"For now," he replied, with a smile, as he leaned back onto the snow.
"Good." The other three interns sank down into the snow beside them. "That was fun."
"We should do this more often," George said.
"It was good to forget about the hardships of being an intern." Just then their beepers went off. "Okay, back to work, we go." They all got to their feet, brushing snow from their clothes, as they headed inside. "Hope it snows soon."
