The crystal surface mocked him in every way, reminding him of how lost he was, of how part of him had been cruelly ripped away - and he didn't mean his ear.
To George Weasley, every mirror was the Mirror of Erised - every mirror showed him what he wanted more than anything else.
Fred was his immortal, his ghost, his everything. He never truly realized how much Fred meant to him until he was gone. The grief pulled at his soul, played with his heart like a bludger on the Quidditch pitch.
"I wish you were here, Freddie. I miss you."
