Chapter 1
Introduction
Things in John Cena's life were good. He had finally landed the girl that he had been going after since the day she showed up backstage in Chicago to visit her older brother and WWE's resident asshole CM Punk. And he had made steps into making her, his for good.
There was just one little teeny tiny problem.
And that problem was Nikki Bella.
She and her sister Brie had joined the Smackdown roster around the same time that Rhett was drafted, and they hated each other. He didn't know why they hated each other but they just did. It was ugly how quick things got between the two of them.
He had been informed on more than one occasion of backstage spats that turned into fights and pranks. Pranks, he knew now came from Ajay Reso, the tiny pixie like on again off again girlfriend of Punk. Sensing that the constant fighting was annoying her boyfriend, Rhett ceased the fighting and was switched back to Raw as a favor to John.
A favor that changed both of their outlooks on their relationship. John became settled and happy and Rhett fell in love with him. A feeling she hadn't been sure of when she went to Smackdown.
But now she knew and it felt good, she had always been afraid of love, mostly because of how things had ended with her parents. It had scared her and the feelings she had now scared her but she knew now it was a good kind of scared. And she knew now what her older brother had been talking about when he told her that he thought Ajay his longtime on and off again girlfriend was the one.
She had laughed at him and told him he was crazy either one had wanted to settle down.
But now she knew better.
She knew he was the one, she could feel it in her bones, she wanted to be his wife and settled down in the house he had purchased in Tampa. And as far as she knew John wanted the same thing, she had overheard him talking to her brother about marrying her.
But nothing good could ever last.
Nothing ever did.
